Not a surprise about Exume. The one game he was dressed, he didn't impress on ST as much as expected.
But I definitely didn't see Dennis's release coming. I thought he was one of our more solid DBs, the guy you never heard about because he covered well enough that the ball never came his way. Did I miss him getting burned this week?
He got burned on a long play against the Riders. I think this paves the way for Daniel Francis to take his spot or Shivers returns to his halfback spot and Francis moves to safety. He practiced there last week.
Dennis had become part of the ticats 'family'. His real family were cheering away with Stala's family at the Rogers Centre exhibition game. I wish him and his young family all the best in the future.
Something here just doesn't add up. Drew (and at least one previous poster) is saying it's based on performance, that with Francis coming back from injury, Shivers moves to DH, bumping Dennis out. From what I've seen this year and last, I'd take Dennis over Shivers, Lee, or Thomas.
There has to be more to this than they're letting on. It just doesn't make sense.
I used to rag on Bo Smith more than anyone, but ever since he returned from his tryout with the Jets, he’s vastly improved. He is far from the Cats’ worst DB.
He has not, he's been the exact same.If you're referring to that good looking pick in the last game, look at the stats.I believe he got a couple last year and the year before when he still sucked.
If you want to be believe that Smith is the same player he was in 2009, that’s fine. But from what I’ve seen, he has improved dramatically. I’m not just talking about one interception in one game. Going back to last year before he got injured, he really started to change my opinion of him. If you want to continue to think he sucks, well, there’s nothing that can be done about that.
8) Looks like Jerome Dennis could be going back to his old team, the BC Lions, according to Arash Madani.
If so, he possibly could play in Friday nights game against the Cats !!
I'm sure Wally would pick Dennis's brain for any inside info regarding the Cats and their playbook !! <!-- s:wink: --><!-- s:wink: -->
I'm that so surprised that Dennis has been cut. I have never been that big of a fan of his. I find that he has often played soft and doesn't make many plays.
I wish him well, but I don't think he will be missed in our secondary.
With Francis now in the lineup, someone needed to be let go. Hopefully the right decision has been made.
I don’t know what you’ve been watching, but Bo has been the same old same old.I guarantee in 2-3 weeks everyone on here will be back to the ol’ “Release Bo Smith” bandwagon again. My opinion can and does change about players, show me over the next few weeks Bo that you won’t get burned on 9/10 routes and i’ll apologize and change my belief in your abilities.
By the way, the only reason he’s still here is because he’s our fastest DB and he’s tall, and has potential.
