Wow! That’s quite the accomplishment for a guy in his first year in the league.
It’s funny that we’re supposed to be more of a passing league, but DBs hardly ever get this kind of recognition in the CFL. The defensive MOP - at the league level, anyway - is a DL or LB over 95% of the time.
It’s quite possible that Breaux was the best defensive player in the CFL in 2014, but the only way for a DB to get that recognition is by getting interceptions. You can’t intercept when they don’t throw your way.
