The Lions ran a lot of pick plays on Delvin. His coverage was close but he was up against one of the best pass attacks in the NFL. The Saints, like the Lions, have a long way to go before they're playoff contenders.

Pat Lynch(the old guy wondering if the Whitehead on the Saints is any relation to Willy)

8) Pat, Yes, Tahir Whitehead is the nephew of former one time TiCat DE, Willy Whitehead.

as a Lions Fan Lions Need to Beef up Both Lines

O-line Needs a LT so They can Move Riley reiff To RT
They also Need a Good Vet Center

They alos need Fix Holes at DT and MLB

With the Right GM they can be Fixed just like Ticats where with Kent Running the Show

METAIRIE, La. -- Add Delvin Breaux to the endless list of people who have been inspired by Steve Gleason.

The New Orleans Saints cornerback said he has not had the chance to really meet Gleason or spend time with him yet since joining the Saints this year. But Breaux made a point to seek out Gleason in the crowd after intercepting a pass this past Sunday and gave the ball to Gleason and his son Rivers.

Breaux, who himself has become one of the NFL’s great inspirational stories after making his way back from a broken neck in high school, said he wanted to thank Gleason for everything that he and his Team Gleason foundation do for patients with ALS and other neuromuscular disorders.

Gleason was diagnosed with ALS in 2011 and has since become a renowned advocate for those battling the disease.

“That could’ve been me in a wheelchair one day,? Breaux said after the game. “I just thought, ‘Let me go find him and thank him.’?

Delvin Breaux leads the Saints defense with eight interceptions this season.

Slight correction on your post Grover......yes Breaux is leading the Saints this year in interceptions but he leads with 3 picks. The entire team only has eight interceptions total on the season. Breaux by the way probably had his best game of the season last week against the Jaguars where he had an interception,a deflection for another int by another player,4 knockdowns,4 solo tackles and generally played shutdown corner all game with excellent blanket coverage on the Jags receivers.

here is a great article about how outstanding Breaux played against the Jaguars and how Breaux is emerging into a bonafide NFL Star with the Saints this season.

here's another great article about how the "Breaux Show" put on a clinic last week against those Jaguars.

Really happy to see Breaux doing so well with the Saints - our loss :frowning: their gain!
We were lucky to have him for a couple of years and I'm sure he is grateful for the opportunity that he was given with the Ticats.

Would of been nice to see him a few more years. This year's defence with DB would over been over the top crazy!!

I Bet Eli can beat Drew at golf!

Brees asked by @BobbyHebert3 which Saints excite him for the future: 1st name? @BreauxShow24 “He solidified himself as a top-flight corner”

It's funny how one develops a close bond (in one's mind at least) with a player that they have never even met. Because he was so great here in Hamilton and he left on such good terms I am proud of his post-cat accomplishments like he was a relative of mine.

He was such a joy to watch in black and gold. I am very happy for his success in the NFL. If he keeps improving next year I can honestly see him being considered for all star status in 2016.

Same here Mike, although I would wish him more success if he played on the Giants..

What a disaster of a season. I’m so glad that is over with.

Former Ticats DB Delvin Breaux locks down success with the Saints

Delvin Breaux’s welcome-to-the-NFL moment happened his first week on the job.

His New Orleans Saints were playing in Arizona and Breaux found himself lined up across from Cardinals’ wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, a superstar who has played in eight Pro Bowls, a Super Bowl and been on the cover of the Madden video game. Twice.

“I was like, that’s Larry Fitzgerald over there. And there’s Carson Palmer at quarterback. And I was on the same field as them, playing against them,? Breaux said this week. “It was a strange feeling. But amazing.?

Breaux had an outstanding rookie year with the Saints. He started all 16 games, made 45 tackles and registered three interceptions. Pro Football Focus, an advanced metrics sites that ranks players by position across the league, listed Breaux as the fifth-best corner in the NFL in October.

While Breaux’s performance may have surprised some — “There is no backing down from that guy,? Indianapolis Colts coach Chuck Pagano said of Breaux — it was simply a continuation of his time in Hamilton, where the former Tiger-Cat spent two seasons and earned a reputation as one of the best lockdown corners in the CFL.

“The NFL game is actually easier in some ways. There’s less motion, the field is smaller and the game is slower because of the 40 second play clock,? Breaux said. “The players in Canada are good, too.?

A Louisiana native, Breaux’s rise to prominence in his home state has allowed his remarkable story to be told to a whole new audience.

On Oct. 27, 2006 — two days after his 17th birthday — Breaux was playing a high-school football game when a devastating collision broke a vertebrae in his neck and displaced two more. It took five years to make it back to the field.

That recovery has turned Breaux into an inspirational figure for people who are suffering from the after-effects of spinal injuries.

“It’s been humbling. There’s been so many people who have reached out to say that my story has helped them stay motivated,? said Breaux. “I try and encourage all of them to stay positive and keep working, to make the best of the hard times.?

Breaux has stayed in touch with several teammates from his time in Hamilton and followed the team closely via ESPN webcasts and social media. He says the city will always feel like a second home.

“The Ticats were so good to me. They gave me a chance when nobody else would,? Breaux said. “I’ll always be grateful to the team and the city.?

Considering that there are 32 teams in the NFL and each have at least 2 starting corners on their squads making at the very least 64 starting corners in the league , Breaux being ranked top #5 out of all of them is truly remarkable and an amazing achievement in his first year in the league. Even more remarkable when you consider that there are 59 other players at corner back that are all ranked below him by this site.

“The Ticats were so good to me. They gave me a chance when nobody else would,? Breaux said. “I’ll always be grateful to the team and the city.?

we <3 you Delvin!

next on the list of your achievements should be to find a better team to play for

NO NO NO. A thousand times no.

Even though the Aints are not a good team, they are his home team (he's from the big easy). Wouldn't you have loved to play for the Cats (your home town team?) even in the one win season? My personal answer to that question is YES YES YES. A thousand times yes.

BTW, in my heart DB the DB will always be an honorary citizen of my home town. :rockin: :rockin: :rockin:

Hey Ryan, Eli just called asking for ya...........he wanted to know if you would still be caddying for him on Sunday. :stuck_out_tongue:
