It’s believed Thorpe could be headed to the Eskimos for a similar position as the one he held in Montreal.
Thorpe, however, has two years left on his contract with the Alouettes and no out clause, according to sources. No permission to speak with Thorpe was requested by the Eskimos.

This one should get real ugly!!

Woo Hoo!! Now the Esks can drag MTL down, Their Defense was the only thing they had.
He must have been really disappointed that Popp wouldn't consider him for HC in MTL.

CONTRACT TAMPERING LEAGUE

They are dealing with an owner who sued an Architect/builder for 1.5 million for short changing him a couple hundred seats and WON...

Hopefully the rest of the privately owned teams put their foot down on this issue.

There are many layers here. First of all there are rules that need to be followed. If broken there needs to be punishment. I get it that dude was disappointed getting passed over as HC twice. OH well, why did he sign a long term deal to be DC if he was not content doing this job?
I am sure Jones could say he gets a higher title going to Edmonton as DC and "Player Development administrator" or a similar bogus title. Bottom line is he sees Sask as a better opp for himself and family. No harm looking to better yourself. Just do it by the rules next time.
I guess we need to wait and see if the DC resurfaces and if he does KABOOM, throw the book at Jones!!!

Exactly. Honor the damn contract you signed. Stop whining about what you feel you deserved but didn’t get, put on your big-boy pants, and be a professional.

In Montreal, he was DC and assistant head coach. It will be almost impossible for Edmonton to spin this as a promotion.
