There will be more roster moves like this to come. Ball will get a look, Curry whenever he's healthy , ditto Keith and probably one or two NFL cuts scouts have been eyeballing.
This to me is just awake up call for Chris Davis he will be back in the starting rotation shortly he is a good receiver.I guess the coaches know what there doing but from what I've seen Preachae Rodriguez is the one who should be sitting not very impressive so far.
I agree with who ever said that, they are trying out our Backup WR. With the NFL, cuts coming and all, I guess they are trying to see who to keep and who to shuffle around! Davis could also be a little hurt, and that explains the case of dropsies! I respect the H.C's choices, and believe he knows what is best for the team!
Id also like too know where hes been. I thought he looked pretty good in the 2 games he played in, we didnt throw this way much but i remember he had atleast 2 nice screen passes for big gains.
What I have been impressed with is Davis' response. While admitting to being disappointed with the decision he was very professional in recognizing that the coaches are making the decision and he will do what is needed for the team.
There's nothing wrong with sitting down an inconsistent rookie. Maybe Davis will respond with positive results at his next opportunity. In the meantime, there are others deserving the same chance.
I stand corrected. Hmmm. He acts like a rookie and somehow I don’t recollect his previous years in the league. The slack I’ve been cutting him just got shorter.
They may figure this is a low risk move and a good way to fire up Davis for the next game. Also sends a message to everyone else to ensure you play full out all game. Even the leading receiver can sit.
8) Nope, Marcel isn't messing with the chemistry, he is in fact sending a message to all the players !!
Even the leading receiver can be sat down for inconsistant play.
Davis has dropped several easily catchable balls in the last couple of games, and that can't be allowed
to continue indefinitely without repercussions !!!
It's a wake up call, plain and simple !!
He basically is, he had what, some time on Mtl’s practice roster and 4 games last year? He hasn’t played a full season yet. If he takes this as motivation to improve himself and get himself back in as the starter, I see that as a pretty mature attitude.
8) Actually Chris Davis broke into the CFL with Montreal in 2006, when he played 5 games for the Al's
that season, and spent some additional time on their paractice roster !!!
He then played 4 games for us last year.
So in reality, his actual rookie year in the CFL was 2006 !!!
Davis played himself out of a starters job and into a competition for one by his butterfingers and wildly inconsistant play. I agree he could be a terrific reciever, he hasn't been. Leading this team in recieving yards isn't a compliment or a slam and definately doesn't guarentee a job since our passing game isn't very good.
His hands are definitely hard. Maybe a week on the bench will soften them. How’s this for chemistry? Receptions=First Downs=Points=Win. Or is that more like simple math?
