CRAP!
Best of luck to Darrell in his future endeavours.
HUGE shoes to fill now

Wow... another one.

Only 26 too I believe?
Who do we have that can fill his shoe's?
I'm thinking maybe we go Matt Kirk with Eddie Steele as backup or vice-versa.

Lose some experience, inconvenience for Marshall, but certainly not "huge" .

Here's the official release.

Apparently he believe's that he's unable mentally and physically to lead this team to the grey cup.Considering he was our best DT, that make's me kinda worried

Id say its pretty big.

shocked to say the least!

really interested in seeing why he retired.

my thinking is that he has other business opportunites that he has to take care of or look in too and playing for around or less than 100k canadian isn't worth it for him.

It's funnier when it happens to other teams.

I wish I could retire ...

Best D-Lineman IMO.

Not such a huge loss because he was not real healthy last year and did not play much.

What the hell is going on with all these retirements?

I agree, he was good, but not great.

The players HATE the new contract between the cfl and cflpa.

I think its a big loss When healthy he was the best we had. When he was out last year the d lines performance was down in an area where i thought we could get alot better.Obie, marcel, marshall seem to have blamed last years defensive effort solely on the dbs.I think other qbs get way too many steamboats which no db can cover forever.Better now than in two weeks

That’s what I was thinking. There have been way too many retirements in the last two to three weeks for it to be a coincidence.

Damn. That really sucks. I hope this isn't a trend.

Best of luck in your future endeavors Darrell.

That could be it ..

I expect more to leave in next season or Two

Yes, he's only 26, according to his bio here: http://www.cfl.ca/roster/show/id/1321

And we just extended his contract in January, according to this: http://www.cfl.ca/article/ticats-extend ... -defenders

This does hurt, as Adams was quite good at DT. But he missed some games last season, I think he only played nine games last year. I think Bolden and McIntyre will be our starting DTs. And Kirk, Steele, and Dalloul could give us some NI depth at DT.

Adams' name has already been taken off the roster. I'm not going to speculate on why exactly he's retiring. I'd like to thank him for his contributions here, because he certainly made some contributions here.

Thanks for your contributions to the Tiger-Cats, Darrell. Best of luck in the future.

This is a HUGE loss. Of course we can find a replacement. Any player can be replaced, but his leadership on the field and his contribution in the community with be greatly missed. I'm surprised by this since he was at the pick-up party and it seemed like he was excited about the season.

I truly wish him all the best. He is a class act and an amazing person and player. I don't know if he's ever been 100% since the injury and I'm not going to read anything more into his retirement. We'll miss you, Darrell!!
