Damon Allen on due for bad year!

Just my opinion, but I think that this will be the year that Damon shows his age...I predict Damon will likely play extremely poor or suffer a lengthy injury. I get the feeling the same is in store for Damon as with what happened with Danny Mac...Danny had that great year 2 years back - good for his age - and then showed his age more last year....Both deserve their spots downtown in the "Hall", but I think its the end of the line for both...its overdue!

I can support that prediction about Damon. I hope you’re right.

Although Danny seems to have found a place where he’s considered useful. And he hasn’t lost his sense of humour - see this interview:

i predict allend get droped and is injured for the rest of the season… it just feelsl ike that kinda year for the argos to me

The best part of that interview was this

What the most ridiculous thing you’ve ever bought?

I bought a fart machine last year.

I want one!

This isn’t exactly the way most of us would like to see him have a bad year. Argonaut or not, nobody deserves to get injured. Damon is a classy guy.

That was funny. More Zen of DMac:
“When the ball leaves your hand, there’s not a string attached to it. Once it’s gone, you can’t pull it back. Let it go.”

Explains how he could live with the interceptions. Nice contrast to the fart machine too.

I hope the argos have a bad year.. but I don't wish for anyone to be injured, especially not as good of a guy as Damon.

Damon Allen is class ,

why wish him anything but good ,

you can wish our "D" better success!

like last week !!!

40 somthing athletes are not suppose to have career years in the CFL, yet Damon wins the MVP for the first time.
Is he better than when he was 30...I don't think so.
I also think Allen will drop off significantly this year.
As a 40 somthing guy, you can't see as well, move as fast, recover from drinking while watching games (never mind playing in them. If, and its a big if his line does not protect him well, or if Allen tries to run the ball frequently he will get banged-up. He will have nagging injuries all year.
He is already the oldest freakin starting QB on the planet, his time has to come!

We hate to ever see -any- football player suffer an injury. And this goes doubly for a really classy guy like Damon Allen. The CFL thrives on our best, most marketable players from Ben Cahoon in Montreal to Dave Dickenson in BC. We need these players to have record years every year.

Time will eventually catch up with Damon, but I'm not going to predict it'll happen this year - that would risk being wrong three years in a row!

Meantime the Tiger-Cat's mission is to beat these guys no matter how good a season they are having.

;-)

Damon Allen is not entering George Blanda territory just yet – and older fans will remember that Blanda stopped being a regular QB with the Raiders in the late 1960s and stayed as a kicker until he was 48 (1975).

Yes, watching George Blanda play does date me, eh? LOL

Damon is still in tremendous shape and is the oldest freaking QB starting on the planet.   Say what we Ticat fans will about our rivals up the QEW, the man is a class act and deserves all the kudos he has garnered over his career. Time will tell whether Time will indeed tell this season.

I wish him the best this season against all the other teams he faces in the league.

Oski Wee Wee,
