Dakota Prukop is a FA

Just what the Dr. ordered for the Argo back up and short yardage position. But there may be other suitors as well.

Saw that too after his release from the USFL’s generals.

Despite a solid first game from Kelly, we could use some experience behind him

Prukop obviously doesn’t have an NFL arm. His only option, football-wise is to return up north.

Argos would seem like the obvious suitor.

Winnipeg not ready to give up on their offseason acquisition and pre-season holy terror, Tyrelle Pigrome.

Toronto behind Chad K. or outside shot Edmonton adds him to their ever-changing roster.

Dakota is really good third and short specialist. We’d take him back in a heartbeat if Brown didn’t happen to be a marginally better passer.

You’re right about Pigrome. We’re high as a kite on his potential. It’s way higher than Prukop’s.

Think its a great idea for Oshko to hide Pigrome this early in the season. Bombers will invariably take a shellacking from Montreal next week as the Als have the best D in the league - look what BC’s D did to Collaros & Co. Gonna be a long nite next week as Bomber record evens out at 2-2.

Geez Lyle I hope not. I wanna take this bag off after Montreal gets ground up under our iron revenge cleats. Be nice.

Yes, apparently this Pigrome is going to be the real deal if we can believe what they’re saying about him. So the Argos would seem to be where Dakota ends up as they need a short yardage guy real bad. They obviously won’t want Kelly banging heads with those stacked defences on 3rd and 1. It has become a big part of the CFL game. Dakota is the only one of Jim Barker’s QB recruits back when he was looking for a backup for Ricky Ray who hasn’t become a starting QB. Collaros, Harris and Farjardo all became starting CFL QB’s but Dakota’s niche seems to be a good short yardage guy. But you never know. Danny McManus was a backup for 5 years and he turned out to be pretty good.

Time to end this thread

Well it was an opportunity for the Argos to bring in a veteran who could handle the short yardage for them. Who knows maybe Prukop didnt want to come back to Toronto and he has ties in Winnipeg. But I have to think that Dinwiddie would prefer to have someone beside Kelly running those tough 3rd and 1 plays.
