TORONTO — CFL.ca is tracking every team’s roster moves as clubs are required to make their final cuts as they set their rosters for Week 1 of the 2025 regular season.
What an absolute farce this is . It’s almost a full 12 hours past the deadline and only 3 teams have complied and released their cut lists . Come on CFL get it together and start acting professional . There is no excuse for this , why have a deadline if it’s not going to be enforced and adhered to ?
I agree. Whatever the reason for the delay the CFL needed to ensure staff was available to make these updates. Otherwise simply make Monday, June 2nd the cut off before any teams start practicing. If nothing else I feel each team site should have had their final releases listed on those web sites by the May 31, 2025, 10:00 pm local deadline. Very unprofessional for sure.
I am not explaining anything, but posing a question.
Is this list automatically updated when the teams submit their info, or is this list updated when staff are able to?
Farce it is!! CFL posting some but not others? Sask made it so not a time thing. CFL staffers all in church? Why not hold back everyone instead of looking like bumbling….
Where’s Randy Ambrosie when you need him?
This league should be embarrassed, the streaming service is horrible, and some three teams are able to post their final cuts while the others have not. Why even bother to have a deadline, The CFL roster dance has officially started
Nice to see Jessie Gibbon make the active Roster with the Alouettes again. Glad the kid found a home. Hamilton gave up on him too soon Thye traded them away to Edmonton They decided he wasn’t worth keeping either
Now he’s one of the best utility linemen in the league
He can play guard or centre or tackle in a pinch
Having that Canadian passport make some also valuable
Some guys are handling this task like they do injury reports. There should either be an organization fine or loss of a mid-round draft pick if the roster trims aren’t announced inside the deadline.
With no apparent penalty for late submissions, doddlers can sit in the bushes to review other team’s cuts - thus making their own cuts easier and poaching more probable.
