I was waiting for Johnny to explode!
PO Lestage is a dummy!
Johnny , you mad bro ?
Now’s your chance to show Montreal fans how to burn witches.
I’m going to get some marshmallows.
Oh yes! Still mad this morning!
So am I, even turned down Bacon this morning.
Wow… you ARE mad.
I was going to return that power drill that I borrowed from you 25 years ago but you’ll just yell at me because I left it outside in the yard under the down spout (to hold it up) and it’s kinda rusty. Well to be honest it’s ALL rusty but it’s still recognizable as a power drill. I wouldn’t plug in though if I were you.
Is it even a real Als season if @Johnny_Ticat_slayer doesn’t start a FIRE X thread? I think not.
I’m not sure about cutting him, just yet, but it kind of feels like he is working himself out of a job. I know he is being asked to play diffeeer positions but he just doesn’t seem to be the same player anymore. His play really seems to have dropped off. Here’s hoping he has a better rest of the season. He really does need to get better at tackling.
Yeah, I tend to agree. Dequoy is being used differently this year in Thorpe’s system. A lot less “roaming centre field for INTs” aka trad safety stuff and more rotations at the LOS, almost like a SAM linebacker in disguise. So part of the issue is usage. And he hasn’t been bad per se, just not up to his past standards.
But I hope he understands that with Hamlin and Beauchemin waiting in the wings, his job is by no means secure.
Incidentally, as a unit, our secondary is one place where we could do to get younger. Dequoy is 30, Murray is 31. Sutton will be 30 next year. It’s tough for a DB when you lose even a half-step. Suddenly you’re in chase mode in coverage and you can’t close fast enough to break up plays. IMO that is what’s happening to Murray this year. He’s still a great tackler, but teams are picking on him on the intermediate and deep sideline throws because he’s lost a bit of speed and isn’t big enough to high-point the ball (either knock it down or pick it off).
From what I can see from this, PFF gave Deqouy the lowest grade, by far, of any player rated this week. A 30. Yikes!
Dequoy’s assets have always been his speed and ability to read the play. He’s never been a great form-tackler. So if he’s lost even a half-step in speed, it’s going to have a substantial impact on his effectiveness.
Plus important encore est l’utilisation qu’on en fait.
L’amener près de la ligne de mêlé n’exploite pas ses qualités mais révèle plutôt sa faiblesse.
I agree. I get that Thorpe likes to rotate guys in the back seven and make them interchangeable, but it’s not doing Dequoy any favours and it’s hurting us. Possibly he’s doing this to shield Mullen from unfavourable matchups, but man, if Mullen can’t get the job done on his own, why did we release Cosby? I feel like Maas has to have a talk with Thorpe and remind him not to outsmart himself.
