Quebec high schools and the colleges play 4 down football.
If QB keep getting hurt, we may have to have flag football for the QB s
Well, this BC Lions STH will likely not be renewing next year.
I’m getting tired of seeing all the special offers and discounts available to potential new fans, it’s starting to make me feel like a sucker for paying full price, perhaps other teams offer better perks to existing STHers, but the perks the Lions offer are few
I really think the CFL and the teams are missing a marketing opportunity here.
CFL is uniquely Canadian.
It’s the only major league I can attend here the only requires 1 national anthem!
As an immigrant myself, I want to find a way to connect to Canadian culture and the CFL is a great way for me to feel a connection to my city, province and country.
Where’s home?
That’s a weird way of asking for someone’s ethnicity…and they already mentioned they’re a Lions STH that wants to feel ingrained with Canadian culture.
As far as TV coverage goes, I find the current TSN panel members, game-time camera angles and play-by-play coverage to be good (good to see Dunnigan gone). However audio-wise, I find the constant, endless horn sounds extremely annoying. One more thing: The field at BC Place appears ancient.
It is. It’s scheduled for replacement following the Word Cup
They have to play on “real” grass for the World Cup, that’s a FIFA requirements. Only Toronto has the real grass.
Home is Canada
It’s also “where the heart is”
my heart is where ever my wife is
Yes we know that. The grass is going on top of the artificial turf. They just did this about a month ago for the Gold Cup. A temporary grass pitch over top of the artificial turf.
For the World Cup it will be slightly different as the grass field will be staying in place for the whole Summer.. Once the games are over both the real grass field and artificial turf field will be replaced
Some of my Swedish cousins speak better English than many of my neighbors!
If you’re wanting to get some TV dollars in the US would definitely be to engage with those college fans whose players make up with your team or getting the degenerate gamblers hooked. I’m a member of both parties. Those Tar Heel fans should be happy. They hired Bill Belichick to take over as head coach this year for them and they are a big conference game for us this year. I am not a Clemson alum but grew up a town over from Clemson and have been a lifelong fan. Seeing Nealon Greene playing for the Riders in my first memories of watching CFL games on tv down here. If you ever want to browse our fan forums tigernet.com you will see people posting updates for all Clemson alumni in all sports and will definitely see some CFL posts here and there. College football is much more popular here in the south compared to the NFL and we are loyal to our guys to the end. Even though Ajou Ajou away from Clemson looking for more playing time we still supported him and usually there’s pretty good support for players who do use the transfer portal to go to a smaller school just looking for playing time and a chance to play some ball, though there can be some bitter separations with the current state of NIL in college ball. Clemson has been one of the lowest transfer portal users out of college football. Pretty much the only teams with lower transfer portal recruits are the service academy schools, Army, Navy, and Air Force. We were mocked initially because we did fall back but the money thing just became unsustainable and our coach Dabo Swinney quietly built up a squad that surprised many last year and had some ups and downs but went on win a conference championship but get knocked out in the first round by Texas. People have gotten on coach for hiring guys to coach who were pretty much ex players he was giving their start in coaching to and was probably giving too long of a leash to but finally got uncomfortable enough to go out and make some big hires and has pretty much shook up the whole coaching staff over the past few years to some of the absolute top available coaches at each position as well as offensive and defensive coordinators. Dabo has also started to very selectively use the transfer portal for big holes but still almost exclusively recruiting high school players and developing them instead of bringing in free agents every year. The football team has also had a 99% graduation rate the past two years so academics are still a big focus here as well. This is looking like one of the years the stars may possibly align for us again if we can stay healthy and live up to the hype
Welcome to the forum!
I’ve always said that you have to find that common thread with U.S viewers, and that is college football
Hey thank you very much. This group here seems a lot more chill than the Reddit group. It’s just an echo chamber over there altogether.
It can get pretty heated around here too, but usually its off-topic in the lounge.
