There’s no Thursday night game in Week 7 but don’t fret CFL fans because that just means we get to enjoy our first CFL doubleheader of the season on Friday night!

I’ve been on record as not buying the Rider hype. And when you look at the stats the Riders are 4-1 yet trailing or on par with the 2 winless teams in almost all the major offensive categories to date. Exactly right on the turnovers as they take advantage of their opportunities. You can say they make their own luck. They had a very easy start to the schedule. With the Bombers & Als on deck we’ll see how it goes.

On that note, ex-Rider McInnis has thrived since leaving for the West Coast. He & Hollins may be the best 2 in the CFL right now & Hatcher should be around for the stretch run. Lions will be tough to beat.

Football is the only game where a defense group can make points against an offense group. Teams like BC has to work twice hard to with the offense to get all the points. Another example is failing EDM/HAM. Same reason BC could not make it to finals in 2023. Field position, defense makes the difference. Secondaries can stop offense and make points. The same reason MTL won last year.

IS THIS THE WEEK FOR EDMONTON?

Yes. I feel it in my bones (not the one in my pants). But Ottawa is gonna make them work for it.

TAKE IT AWAY, GIVE IT AWAY

And then there’s BOMBS AWAY with our suddenly competent receiving corps. Look out Saskatchewan with your stellar give away/ take away ratio… Zach has got his mojo back. Oliveira’s starting to roll and last game we had more take aways than a McDonald’s drive thru. This could be the game of the week!

BO LEVI MITCHELL ON PACE FOR CAREER-HIGHS

Bo’s finally 100% healthy and on a tear but his timing couldn’t be worse… this is the year that Hamilton decided to go without a defense (a strategy that will go down in history as being spectacularly bad for witches).

ALL EYES ON JUSTIN MCINNIS

So much talent… so many options for Vernon Adams Junior… on paper this is such a mismatch. It smells like a trap (as in ‘trap-game’). Bet the house on Justin Mcinnis catching another 200 yards worth of passes if Calgary doesn’t double team him. But even if they do that’ll leave some other ridiculously talented BC receiver open so fuggedaboutit Calgary defenders. Just fuggedaboutit.

A stat to consider is points for/against. BC and Montreal each around + 40 spread. Sask +20 and TO + 15. The rest of the league all in the negative.

I have lots of reasons to be suspect and concerned about my Riders, but I try not to read too much into the stats. W’s matter, that’s it that’s all. Doesn’t matter how you get them or how good you look getting them.

Could be a trap game for Toronto this week - Hamilton may be 0-5 but Mitchell has been firing on all cylinders. HAM’s defense can’t get much worse, and if they can improve even slightly on their previous performances I think the Cats steal the game from TO.

Agreed. Argo D has been less than stellar especially the secondary so BLM could really light it up. Argos will need to win the ST matchup as they did last week in MTL. I hate to say it but Cats in a close one.

HC Mace is a defensive guru so it stands to reason your D is winning the games. Just enjoy the W’s however they come.
