…nated from knockout stages by fellow CONCACAF member Panama should, but won’t likely, elicit a strong enough response to demand some sort of turnover amongst the high ranks. With Panama leading v Bolivia, US now has to beat Uruguay by at least 3 goals to advance. If Bolivia ties, then just an outright win will suffice. Neither of which, seems realistic to me given how play has transpired by the half.
I see great change regardless of the results of this tournament. The World Cup demands it.
Anyway, now basically Uruguay and the US can fart around like too many sides in the third game of group play for that scoreless draw.
But for the US as you explain, a draw with Uruguay is peril should Panama score another goal and win.
But look now, Uruguay just scored! Oh well enough of that noise for this US team I figure.
I’m looking forward to our terrible US soccer media EATING IT tomorrow most especially, including on Sirius FC 157 and CBS Golazo.
For about 10 min, the commentators were complaining about the VAR offside, which they are right. The righteousness was a bit much though. However, the fact the US still have to get a goal and they looked absolutely listless after that time tells you more about the team than the subpar reffing.

Sad news is that during practice and a collision of two players Tajon Buchanan has a broken tibia.
Not good for the team as it limits flexibility but obviously Tajon as well. He’s had a rough Copa but was coming on in the game vs Chile.
Canada Stat: In five games, against two teams ranked higher, and the world’s number 1, 2 and 7, Canada has kept opponents scoreless in 8 of 10 halves.
They may not be scoring much but they’re not letting too many in either (save Holland at the start of the journey under a new coach and system)

but those stats dont get you anywhere near the Olympics.
You have mentioned both the Olympics and the women’s competition. You certainly can start threads for those.

First of all, men’s Olympic soccer is typically U25 so this is irrelevant compared to the current men’s national teams. Also, Canada can compete with any CONCACAF nation as it stands. Sure they aren’t set up as such to win the World Cup but really there are only a dozen countries that have a real shot in a given cycle.
Are we just not supposed to cheer on anybody else?

always cheer for Canada.
but other teams too. Nice to also cheer for someone who has a chance.
I just like to be realistic on Canada chances in anything bigger than Concacaf
This Brazil-Colombia match is really cracking!
They do get you to a Copa QF

Saudi Arabia beat Argentina, there’s no such thing as realism

It’s even less comparable, it’s under 23 years of age, with three permitted exceptions.

Canada with a lot of good chances. Could be 2 or 3 nothing right now if they scored.
