Congratulations to Eric Deslauriers and Tyrone Carrier

Canadian and Special Team Players of the week in the CFL

I always was intrigued by Deslauriers' size and speed, always expected the next game to be his breakout game. It never really happened until last week. So congratulations.

Congrats to both. Keep it up, Eric!

Yes, you came through when we needed such play!

Interesting now that Deslauriers has joined Whyte as a weekly winner we now have the two most ridiculed Canadian players on this site together on the podium this year. Good for them.

Maybe ridicule works :cowboy:

Slant,

Yes our constructive criticism is finally paying off.

yup. that must be it.

Never really heard Deslauriers speak other than the odd soundbite. But he was on TSN 690 this morning and is a pretty well spoken guy, could see him in broadcasting after his career ends.

He reiterated that the problem with the team at the beginning of the season was that they had gone too far away from the Trestman way.

Deslaures has been the #5 or starting as the 4th receiver for the entire season yet before this game he had less than 100 yards REC and of his 150 plus yards on the season 57 were from that hail mary pass.
Maybe patience has paid off as he is now on pace to for career highs in the 2007 rookie season of 23 receptions and 325 yards.
In 18 games last season 10 catches for 299 yards with a long of 71.
He could be a late late bloomer
