When you have someone like Scott Milanovich who is gonna be probably a Head Coach next year, that was an easy decision for you guys

And now the other guy (DC)…… I hope?

Not surprised they did something. The bye week was the perfect time to do it. And it’s easier to fire an OC when you already hired his replacement in the offseason.

I wouldn’t expect miracles from Milanovich, though. You can’t install a brand-new system almost midway through a season. At best, he’ll make alterations to the playbook and call a different kind of game.

I’m pretty sure @Crash nailed the “mutually agreed to part ways” language. :ok_hand:

Glad to see Stein actually announced something because something had to be done and they just couldn’t carry on with the same old same old.

Good to see a change in coaching - like Rick Zamperin was saying in the 5th quarter - the team needs a spark.

Until one of Shiltz or BLM is healthy, though, I’m not sure how much Milanovich can do. Powell is very raw, and Pipkin sure isn’t going to make enemy DCs shake in their shoes. Milo is also very much a ball-control guy (he’s from the Trestman tree) so I’ll be curious to see how he meshes with Hamilton’s stable of quarterbacks.

does that mean no more screen plays and quit running the same 6 plays

Makes the timing very odd. The final straw was playcalling with your 4th string QB?

Washington better be on notice.

Na na na na… na na na na… heeeeeeey… goodbye.

Yeah, in one sense the timing isn’t odd (bye week), but it is from the standpoint you mention. I wonder if 3 points in the second half against MTL was what sealed Condell’s fate?

I also agree that Washington should be on notice, though they would have to bring in someone new to fill his position. What’s Devon Claybrooks doing these days?

The offense has been stale all season. The timing might be more about the bi-week then anything else.
The defense, in our 5 loses, has been just as bad. So honestly if Malonovich was a defensive minded coach in waiting, then it could have been Washington just as easily getting fired.

can we finally say more then 1 offensive TD against Elks

Nah, they could move Stein back to DC and since the season is screwed anyway they might as well bring in Natalie Sexton for head coach.

You know what, you’re right. It doesn’t matter that the defense is statistically the worse unit of the two.
Milanovich is here and a change/message had to be made.

one down two to go

Prediction:
The next 35-40 point plus blowout against our defense, Coach O takes over the defense for the rest of the season.
It would be an pretty easy move that doesn’t cist us extra money.

Agree. Its the easiest move if someone has to pay a price for accross the board failure and a deeply embedded HC.
