Comm. Cohon please promote and market the CFL better in o8

Comm. Cohon please run ads on TV promoting the CFL and our game over thge NFL to get more and more canadians on board and fans oif thr CFL and grow the leaque and numbers and increase attendance.

PROMOTE OUR GAME IN ALL KEYS MARKETS INCLUDING ATLANTIC CANADA AND QUEBEC AND BACK IN OUR CAPITAL CITY.

PLEASE DONT WAIT UNIT ITS TOO LATE, DO IT NOW, IT`S LONG OVER DUE.

ALSO GET RID OF THE WHITE LINES ON OUR BALL,TO MUCH LIKE HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE.

Years AGO the CFL had no lines on our ball and it looked good more like pro ball and not mickey mouse.

Do it change is good Mr. Cohon.

Also we need a huge improvement in dress up of our CFL home fields, Home Team Logo`s in end zones and CFL Logo at centre field.

We need to promote our leaque and the CFL Brand and the CFL itself much better.

I went to the Grey Cup in Toronto this year and I could not believe with a fulll house and many viewers their was no Grey Cup Team logos in the End Zones or CFL logos on the field. It`s looked bad and unprofessional AND NOT IN TUNE with marketing and promoting the CFL and the Grey Cup.

We need to improve big time in this very important area to be and look bigger and better. It time we get with the program rahther then keep doing the same old thing which is not impressive and degrading our product not promoting it.

             CFL FAN

Seriously, guy...do you do anything but start threads griping about the current state of the CFL?

Maybe he is sanduskyohiobro's alter ego?

He does
They are all anti-NFL threads

Though I do agree with only team logos and CFL logo painted on the fields. The corp sponsors can have their big signs anywhere else.

That’s probably easier said than done. Right on the field is where the ads are easiest to be seen, especially to a national TV audience. If I’m the advertiser and Cohon tells me that they want to move my add to some other part of the stadium, I want to talk about rates all over again.

Expansion and a video game are a must.

Except the CFL has no control over either of them

"wspidel" does make a couple of good points with this post!

AND...I think that Mr. Cohon knows a thing or two about marketing.

If you get the opportunity to meet with Comm. Cohon you will find him quite approachable and familiar with the passion of the CFL fan.

Don't be surprised if you see him "unannounced" at a "tailgate".

I was...but next time, I won't be. His genuine love of OUR GAME comes accross quite clear. AND...it is up to us to do our part by continuing to support and promote Our Game!

The companies are paying big money for the advertising on the field. Get used to it, the league can't afford to not get this money.

White stripes on the ball "unprofessional"? Why? What a joke, who cares. The only thing I'll say about this is that if it's a lame duck throw, the white stripes don't hide this whereas in the NFL with no stripes, you don't see the fluttering nearly as much without the stripes, and belive me, they do flutter a lot in that league as well. But if the stripes have to go to hide the fluttering or whatever, why not just make them a darker version of the brown leather so the CFL logo can stay the same.

Good post woody, I always get the feeling that Mr. Cohon loves the CFL a lot. At least you're a fan wspidel albeit with some awkward thinking me thinks about what exactly is going on, or not going on for that matter.

Well said! As for the issue with the game ball, I personally own an official CFL game ball and I think it looks awsome. If they got rid of the lines on them, it look like a bigger version of the NFL ball, also keep them white. If they were anything other than white, they’d make the CFL look like a gimmic league (XFL, USFL, heck even the Arena League).
