Not sure how popular the college game is in Canada but are their games readily available on TV there or are they overlooked by NCAA games being on some Canadian network?
sometimes u sports games have been on ch news and other channels . i've streamed mutiple calgary dino and mcmaster games and now i'm actually friends with multiple current and former u sport football players
TSN used to broadcast U Sports along with the Vanier Cup on and off until 2013 until Sportsnet took over and virtually did nothing with it.
It's ratings!! not many people are going to watch the CIS on Saturdays when NCAA games are readily available. Let's see "trying to decide between watching Notre Dame or Windsor"............
Sorry but not many people want to watch CIS football, how many people in Hamilton show up to watch McMaster or how many people attend a YorkU game in Toronto?
I gladly would watch u sports / CIS over NCAA but then I personally have interacted with Macmaster and dino players and some Gee Gee players .
Please refer to tv numbers during the 2011 and 2012 Vanier Cup finals.
Mind you, they both took place on a Friday night and, coincidentally, were both paired up with the Grey Cup.
Also the CFL also has games on Saturday as well. Besides U Sports rarely has games on Saturday night anyways.
The issue is how Sportsnet took over and absolutely buried it.
U Sports needs to be promoted by sports media instead of obsessing over hockey consistently.
Canada is really lacking actual sports reporters.
If USPORTS tie in gambling into their games, Football, Basketball and Hockey, people will watch. The Schools would benefit from the single game betting just like the CFL could
very true
Marshall Ferguson who is a former u sports football player himself is one of the few reporters / media people who promotes u sports . Marshall Ferguson played at mcmaster with Mike Daly , Declan Cross , Tyler Crapigna
