Civic stadium

The Statue would have to be of Angelo Mosca.

Pass from Zuger?

No Doubt about it Grover!!! That photo is one of the most iconic symbols in CFL History.Would love to see it in statue form,it would be absolutely stunning!!! A statue of Garney would be nice as well, perhaps Captain can find the one with both Henley and Mosca holding up the cup in 72.

Nice advert on the scoreboard!!! Players Please - what happened to cigarette ads at sporting events

Amazing pic Cap’n,

Man Look at Garney, the guy was a pencil, Thin, Fast, tough as Stelco Steel, sure hands and tackles,
Einstein football IQ, he was the best on both sides of the football.

If they are erecting the statue because Rogers saved Toronto baseball then it would be appropriate to have a bronze statue of Bob Young at the entrance to the stadium.

Really?

Cap’n. Yeah…really. I just never bothered looking. I used to do my Grade 12 athletics at Civic Stadium…just took it for granted I guess.
Thanks a million for all the photos you have posted in the last couple of days.
Now…ask me about Hamilton’s movie theatre history and I can be a little more knowlegable.

Ok, where’s this?

Sorry...can't resist a trivia challenge...The State was renamed the Towne Theatre. It was on Barton near Lottridge; right nearby Civic Stadium.

Well, certainly if it were Bob one could say without hesitation that the owner loved the sport of the team in which he bought, rather than Ted Rogers who saw the Blue Jays as more of a branding outlet for his main business, from what I've read at least.

So True

And I too would like to say “thanks” to those responsible for the “history lesson”, and the great pics.

Well done!

How deep is the end zone in the first pic? Doesn't seem to be 20 yards I would say. :?

It looks like an NFL regulation 10 yd endzone to me.

Certainly does look like that bobo. Maybe that shot was taken when the Bills played here, if they did play here? :?

Still a 110 yard field, though. You can see the “C” between two 50-yard lines.
