City of Hamilton To Consider Alternate Stadium Sites

Tom: Aw c’mon. You have seen us sitting and chatting at games and practices. Everything is fine.
We both like to make our points on this forum …that’s all.

ya I know too old Guys Fighting over the last blue plate Special

But I enjoy your company

Whether Fred wants to believe it or not, this is not his personal call. By on the surface, he almost sounds like he is doing everyone a favour and is just humouring us.

He has to grasp the notion that he is just a well paid public servant, is far from an expert on sports facilities and it is incumbent on him to rally for, and encourage the BEST location, and not just HIS location.

He needs to leave his ego at the door and be mindful that this is -other- people's money he's playing with......ie. Ticats, taxpayers etc.

As Scott Michell said, ALL sites should always be on the table for equal consideration. (paraphrasing)

..having said that however, I'm glad the Mayor finally blinked.

Tom: Thanks.

I still think a discussion in a bar over a few beers would straighten things out with everyone better than firing off posts here. Not that I don’t appreciate the opportunity this forum offers but face to face debates are more productive and usually more civil than dealing with faceless and anonymous posters.
Hey…who knows? The bar thing could happen. Maybe when this stadium mess is over…one way or the other…we could all do that!

That artcile is already being discussed here:

Not sure why there are so many different stadium threads now. Having so many makes it confusing and leads to many duplicated posts and discussions just like this thread.

The one stadium thread was quite suffificient for the longest time.

ya We could call it the Hoser stadium Summit

But We need two Facilitators to keep you too Civil
I have the Perfect two for the Job - YouTube

Tom:

 <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->  <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->  <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->  <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->  <!-- s:) -->:)<!-- s:) -->

I was thinking it is more like the two old geezers from Sesame Street!
Really though we never argue when we are at the practices etc. I ask him and you for your opinions on players etc and you guys are very helpful.
The problem with this stadium issue is there are so many unknowns and twists and turns it is impossible for any one of us on this forum to be right about anything at any given time.

Agreed I am trying to lighten the mood … :rockin:

by the way which one of you is MR Hooper and what one is Oscar The Grouch??

Tom: Ask Ron.
I prefer to think of myself being more like Kermit.

Anyway…I’ll give Ron the floor. I have to head out to Oshawa now.
The Oshawa Tiger-Cats anyone?
Naw. Doesn’t sound right at all.

Agreed, but a stadium that size won’t suit the Ticats.

I still get the impression the City believes it can

drum up enough business and sponsors

to keep a 15 thousand seater going at
West Harbour without the Tiger-Cats.

The Pan AM HostCo won’t give them that opportunity,

besides, both caretaker bob and Mayor Fred
are saying that ‘failure is not an option’

if we are to believe Scott Mitchell and Chris Murray,

the numbers are just not there now
to make a 27 thousand-seater work.

If the city can show it has done everything possible
other than sell the farm, to help the Tiger-Cats

…what other option is there?

Both parties try to make their numbers
say what they want them to say

the facilitator will ferret out
what their bottom line really is.

Maybe people should be more clear in the title of their threads.

Are you referring to ronfromtigertown’s title of Will any stadium site suffice??

Seems pretty clear and seems others had no problem discussing the article there. Is that what you’re referring to, or something else?

is mr62cats gone now, Tom?

Don’t tell him, Tom, but If he is Kermit the Frog

then I am Jim Henson, he’s nothing without me.

You Two are Killing me ROFLMAO Thank god Football Season is close.

Ron u do know He Dead ????

Confusing seems to be the proper description for the entire stadium issue, why should this forum be any different.
If people want to start their owm thread now and then so their post and point don’t get lost it’s not really that big a deal…is it?

No. Not a big deal…

It just adds to the confusion since the very same article had already been posted and is being discussed in a thread already.

CaptainKirk if you are confused just blame it on the mayor like everybody else does on this site.

mr62cats?

guys, I'm not surprised most of these discussions lose interest among all except a few regulars when they degenerate in this manner... but could we try to keep it on topic?
