Bengals' Henry dies after falling out of pickup
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry has died, one day after suffering serious injuries upon falling out of the back of a pickup truck in what authorities describe as a domestic dispute with his fiancee.
Police say Henry died at 6:36 a.m. local time Thursday. Henry was 26.
Away from the team because of a broken forearm, Henry was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after being found 800 metres away. He apparently jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancee was driving away from the residence.
Police said at some point when she was driving, Henry “came out of the back of the vehicle.”
I can’t believe this. When I heard he was in the hospital last night, I thought, no way he dies. Then I saw the headline today, and I nearly fell off my chair. What a tragedy. No one deserves to lose his life at 26. RIP, man…
This Reminds me so much of the Sean Taylor incident sent to the hospital had signs of making it than dead the next day, never want to see that happen to anyone so young RIP Chris
Just read that Ochocinco wants to wear Chris Henry's jersey tomorrow, and the NFLPA has said it will pay for any fine that he gets for wearing it.
I know the standard is wearing a little decal with the player's number, but I like this tribute by Ochocinco, and I hope the league isn't dumb enough to fine him.
Yeah. Apparently someone from the NFLPA said they'd pay the fine, but then I guess they discovered they can't. Oh well. I hope he still wears the jersey, and I hope Goodell pulls his head out of his ass.
Looks like he cancelled his plan. Didn't want to be a distraction. I do feel sorry for his family but I do wonder why when some of these guys die we sugarcoat their lives
Yeah, I saw that this morning. Kind of ticked me off. Goodell should've came out and gave him the OK. I can't stand Goodell. Terrible Commish.
As far as honouring them when they die... In my opinion, the kid may have had some problems, but that doesn't make his death less tragic. The kid was only 26, had a couple kids. Sucks...
Sad for sure. It seems to be getting worse every day. It's to the point where I feel more sorry for these kids getting rich and famous to quick then I am jelous. A lot of cases (as I believe as in this one) you see kids make mistakes when they're young and come around late 20's to 30 they start to mature just as I believe Henry was. And BTW if you watched at all yesterday no one can doubt Chad's sincerity in his mourning
Any charges being brought against the girlfriend? I only ask because I don't believe we're getting the whole story. I'm thinking maybe she saw an opportunity to nail the gas pedal and get rid of him for good?
