Outside of the raw raw cheerleader stuff im trying to say this…
Eakin could come in and do well this week and lose, he could play great, and lose… either way this is a risk. Its not what we wanted to do and he didnt EARN this start, he had it handed to him because of injury.
I also dont care how he does or who starts as long as we get the win… but lets face it… Maas healthy is our best chance to win and thats why im skeptical about tomorrow night. Plain and simple.
If we win i’ll be the first one on here happy that we did, but if we lose i’ll also wish Jason was in there.
For the sake of attitude…let’s insert Wins in place of Lose! How would that sound?
Next…What the heck more does a guy have to do if he is #2 than what Kevin Eakin has done?
Let’s face facts here…Kevin has a stronger arm…has shown he knows that DJ is on the team…has as many wins with the Ticats as Maas has! What more do you want the guy to do…Sit there and hold for field goals and watch the team lose more close games…???
I’m sorry, but Kevin has EARNED his right to start and hopefully Lancaster will see fit to give him that start!
Up to this point in time…I’ve never said let Kevin start but NOW…with Maas showing signs that he is not up to snuff… (maybe we got damaged goods, as was pointed out to us by others last year)…Kevin deserves the chance to show what he can do!
Hey woody, thanks for sticking your neck out on this one ... I can just sit here and say ... "ditto to what woody says" ! ...
I AM STOKED !! My first game of the season and it just happens to coincide with a Fr-Eakin START !! YEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!
Due respect to Maas - nobody likes to hear of an injury - BUT I will be the FIRST to SAY ; IF Kevin leads the team to VICTORY then I say BY ALL MEANS KEEP HIM as #1 ... After all, Maas is a SUPER SUB himself !!
Win or lose, it's gonna be a fun night for sure!.....Eakin spells pure fun and like Coach Lancaster said....."you never know what he's going to do"....
It's gonna be a hoot to watch!
Fasten your seatbelts "Meanstreak" ! :rockin:
Think back 30 years, Lemmerman and Wilkinson style of "twin quarterbacking", it really does work, and exploits the differences of the various strengths of the team!
Eakin has the skills to lead the team, just the same as Jason, and I believe Jason will back up Kevin n every aspect....
Why not?
Wpg will be hard pressed to guess what will be coming at them offensively, and thats half the game, isn't it?
Actually I have a feeling that our offence is gonna break out tonight . It wouldnt matter who is in at QB they are just so due to have a break out game that all the breaks are going to go our way for once .
I don’t mean to pick apart your post or anything but, the esks didn’t really use a 2 qb system last year (maciocca was too idiotic to understand that ray and maas were amongst the best and should have been used when one another struggled). The only “game-time” Maas saw last year with the green and gold was the 3 quarters in the playoffs(which I’m sure all of you remember), and the last 3 minutes of the last game in the regular season. That’s right, Ray started and played all 18 games, save for 3 snaps in the regular season. Those two used together throughout the year could have been deadly…Oh well.
Anyways, good luck to Kevin Eakin tonight, if he is indeed starting, and all the best to J. Maas in recovering from his injury, and playing like his old self. Go ticats Go!
