TORONTO — Saskatchewan Roughriders running back AJ Ouellette might be nearing a return.
The CFL’s highest paid running back has been nothing but a major colossal bust so far, not worth the invested money the team put up for him.
The same can be said about a few Argos who left the 6ix this past year.
Bede + Leake have both been underwhelming in Edmonton.
Both Bede and Leake have shown on field production.
Yet you only see negatives for for other teams… Hmmmm
This is just statistically untrue. I am an Argos fan and absolutely love both of them but to suggest they have shown comparable on field production to their 2024 numbers in Toronto is misleading.
Boris Bede made 95% of his field goals in 2023. He was 38/40 on field goals. Thats only 2 misses + both of them were at least over 40 yards. In 2024 he has, statistically speaking, fallen off a cliff. He’s only made 79% of his field goal attempts (27/34) with multiple misses under 40 yards. The only thing that’s been consistent in Bede’s game is his ability to Kickoff at an Elite level.
Javon Leake has averaged 9.7 yards across 22 punt returns with 0 touchdowns in 2023 compared to averaging 14.8 yards across 82 punt returns with 4 punt return touchdowns in 2024. He’s not even the Elks primary returner anymore. He was benched weeks ago!
If you’re an Edmonton fan, I can see why you’d try to defend them but statistics don’t lie.
