There’s media talk in the U.S. that Chicago Bears WR Chase Claypool could be released by the team soon. They spent a 2nd round pick to acquire him from the Steelers and have been disappointed by the results. Could the Abbotsford B.C. native make his way north soon?
There’s many things in the Chicago bears situation that don’t work….seems to be a thing with claypool tho, shipped outta Pittsburgh shipped outta Chicago now too….hmmmm
I think some time will have to pass with no NFL interest before he considers coming up here. Definitely not for this season.
I wonder if any team has his exclusive negotiating rights.
Saying that he has at least 3 seasons of NFL experience so he won’t have to play under a rookie contract under the current CBA. Something incentive ladden could work
There is more chance of the Bears moving to the CFL than Chase Claypool.
Then that would open up the market ripe for expansion… prophecy fulfilled;)
Oh jeez… don’t say that!
Remember the horrors of the last “chicago expansion” thread?
Hey , didn’t we have a thread on that at one time ? I know that Chicago was mentioned in the title or something like that .
We wouldn’t do anything so cruel as to unload the Bears onto the CFL.
Or would we?
Think it was even worse than that.
Those were some of the lows in the hard times during that canceled season plus delayed season hiatus for the CFL.
We discovered new ways to …amuse ourselves?
Perhaps even lower was that Domed Stadium thread. But some strangely fun times too.
For that mass of those Bears fans who will still tell you, unprovoked and not in context,
“yeah, you know, back in '85 we …(insert whatever modernly irrelevant drivel)”, well yes indeed, to release those people in modern times upon any given new city would be cruel and unusual punishment too.
Justin Fields looking like a half-decent QB against CFL defences and the team going on a run to the title game and releasing “Grey Cup Shuffle” to mark the occasion.
The horror of it would be too much to bear (no pun intended).
Yes - people still bring it up like they won every game 600-0 and it was a five-year reign.
SNL’s Super Fans weren’t much of an exaggeration.
Fun fact: The daughter of “Mama’s Boy Otis”was one of my son’s preschool teachers for about a week or two before she quit.
Either cut Chase or cut to the chase.
Thank you for actually responding with something related to the topic of the thread; similar to the first two responses. Meanwhile in another one I was recently accused of highjacking, haha what a joke.
