Football Ops had our lowest grade, and second-lowest throughout the League; although Dyakowski mentioned that "there are some rough correlations with on-field success, which shouldn’t be a big surprise.” That can mean a few things - that a team that grades low doesn’t support the players enough to succeed, the players were upset over a losing season, the confusion about new ownership in Edmonton (lots of places for improvement), for example.
Management and Admin may be due to the VAJ/Rourke thing, among others. The practice facility is in poor condition, according to one respondent. Maybe all the owner’s money has gone into the fans’ experience (concerts and the like) and marketing rather than facilities (City-owned?) and silly things like player’s nutrition.
The only thing I am embarssed about as a ticat fan is the way the one player said how fans treat players fans. Me Personally where i sit, I always see players families if game hasnt started i always introduce myself or if they are behind me at a away game always make them feel welcome.
But what does it actually mean? Is it a big picture or just a snapshot ? Last season aside has bad report card CAL, for example, ever had trouble attracting, retaining talent and FAs ?
But it’s both.
Its how players feel during the 2024 season, and its a result of what was already in place, ( equipment, meals, training facilities, training camp).
It is relevant in the sense that players talk and money is , more or less, the same for each team, so going into Free Agency, these reports could influence decisions.
The fact that the Cats missed the playoffs and only won 7 games and still finished on top of the grades is significant I think.
I’m also aware that, in some cases, a winning record and playoff bonuses have a bigger impact on a player’s decisions then a team’s meal plan.
It certainly appears to me that
"Football Operations " just had a huge change in the hiring of Goveia as a stand alone GM instead of the clusterfuk commitee chain of command where everyone and no one were held responsible for decisions that was before
All report cards are just a snapshot. I’m not sure how you don’t understand that.
Every single report card ever in existence is a snapshot of things at that time. Yet they determined my academic path.
In Grade 8, I was great at math. Grade 9 a little less. Grade 10 worse. Grade 11 barely passed. Each one was a snapshot of how I was doing at that point in time. As you can see, I got progressively worse in math and it threw my career as a meteorologist right out the window.
