"If I was running the team I'd like to see how Zac could perform under this new and improved offence and then make decisions from there ."
And as much regard and respect that I have for Zach Collaros, he has not run this offense or any for sometime.
While this team still has a shot at a playoff spot, you want to put him in an important game for the rest of the players, and if his unfamiliarity causes errors that costs them a win that ultimately takes away a post season game, that is a risk worth taking??
According to Drew, he's benched so that they can see how some younger players play. Seems to be an asinine reason to do that to (arguably) our best DB, and not do the same with Collaros...
I like Davis, seemed to play well, always around the ball, had knock-downs, good tackler. Didn't think he was beaten all that much on Saturday, and didn't notice that he was on the replay. But then, didn't notice that he had been pulled out either.
Plus he was the guy on my "collector tickets" on Saturday. That doesn't seem to work out well for the guys this year?
Even so, it's hard to imagine Winnipeg offering enough to make it worth our while. The logicial thing to seek in a trade like this is a quality Canadian, and the only really tempting assett Winnipeg has in that regard is Andrew Harris, who obviously won't be on the table. I'd say Loffler, but I think Courtney Stephen has played well for us.
Draft picks maybe? Or part of some kind of package trade?
I'm thinking it's unlikely any deal will get done. It's late in the season for Collaros to make an impact anyway, unless Nichols is completely non-functional.
I would have to think that Winnipeg is nearly capped out for money to spend and especially with the price tag for Zach Collaros.
Possibly Montreal, BC or Sask, I would think Montreal might be a contender given the fact that they are already out of the playoff picture for this year.
If not than agreed maybe it's best just to keep Collaros around in case the Cats make the playoffs and in case Mazola was to get injured. Still some possibilities on the table?
