CFL Trade Deadline

Any developments in discussion about the future of James Franklin?

A couple of seasons ago, Franklin and Jennings were both touted as being the next great starting QBs.

But they’ve both flopped, miserably.

I can’t see anyone trading anything of value for either of those two. If they get released someone might pick them up for training camp fodder, but I think that’s it.

Of course, just because they’re buying doesn’t mean anyone is selling.

I would be really happy if the Alouettes grab Cleyon Laing

Ditto

OR maybe one of OLs Tyler Holmes or Ryan Bomben

Curious what we’re getting back. Will be happy with a 2nd rounder but that’s probably shooting for the moon.

And to think, Popp was ready to extend him next year before the axe fell.

They should have reached out to Durant or Glenn if there still interested in playing

3rd rounder but becomes a 1st if Collaros resigns with the Bombers

This is not a big loss or really any kind of a loss for us.
Unfortunately due to injuries, Zach’s best years are behind him.

Wow!!!
I just feel sorry for all of those Argo fans that bought Collaros sweaters

WPG gives up a 3rd for Collaros and a 5th

IMHO, He won’t be re-signed and is really just insurance if Streveler gets hurt

Nobody wants Wilder, Green, etc. :o

Should not be that much of a surprise since your post of a Davis Sanchez tweet from a week agostated this trade ofwould happen. Sanchez was absolutely correct in saying thatZac Collaros would be never play for the Argos and was thelogical quarterback being dealt to the Bombers.

They did reach out to Glenn several times. He has declined each time.
So thats that.

For sure Collaros is just a rental for the Bombers. But he does have a similar understanding of the CFL like Nichols to be that “game manager” a vet that can make those throws.

Think it’s a 3rd plus a 1st if he re signs.

Well for the Bombers it was outa their hands that Nichols went down.
The issue was that it wasnt until 2 weeks ago that they found out Officialy that He was done for the season.
Although we all suspect that they knew that was a real possibility.
At the time Nichols got injured the did go after Kevin Glenn Asap. But he wasnt interested. & really at that point of the season. There werent alot of QBs available at all.

At least in Sask & then Hamilton. They knew from the get go that Collaros would be done for likely almost the whole season & possibily all season.
So it was Farjardo job from game two. No looking over his shoulder. Then he stepped it up hense there goes ZAck.

In Hamilton Mosoli injury they knew had put him out for the season asap.
So it was Evans or bust since early in the season.

It looks like a loan from the Argos to the Bombers, the contract is until the end of the season. According to 3D nation, Collaros will return to the Argos for next season, Pinball wants him back.

Thats wat these late season trades in any pro sport are. Rentals of players that can help with a Championship push.
With their contracts being up & be becoming FA’s next season

Actually, it’s a “conditional third-round pick.” That is, it’s a 3rd-round pick that will be upgraded to a 1st-round pick if he re-signs.
