For my needs, this schedule is AWESOME!
I can travel only in July and there are many options for me this year.
Whoo-hoo!

Finally! Wow was that an ordeal!

Now comes the fun with another annual forum tradition, for we get to hear and discuss all the new complaints about the scheduling of certain games!

No GC Rematch in Week 1?!
The Defending Champs starting on the Road?!
No Wednesday Night Games?!

 Just kidding I do not care about that stuff. I am so excited for the 2025 season! Going to try to make it out to the 2nd Week of Preseason and finally visit Tim Hortans Field, and then stick around and hit BMO the next week when the Argos host the Ticats!

Also going to try to book my vacation to visit Calgary during the Stampede on July 3rd. Aaron Crawford said he would try to get me on the field

McLeod BT made a difference! The fines were worth it. These consideratuons should have always been adhered to in the schedule.

“Highlights of the new schedule include that no teams will have to play on a four-day turn-around this season, with no more than two five-day weeks per franchise. Nobody will face an opponent coming off a bye more than three times either.”

Maybe that’s why it took longer than usual to come out- trying to squeeze in these new accomodations.

I’m suspect that’s a part of it. I wish for those who like it sooner to be ready sooner, but for me I’d rather get a quality and more fair schedule and wait for its release.

That said, I don’t know why they couldn’t start in 2026 now, and have it ready for release in November

Welp… It had to happen sooner or later, it’s Winnipeg’s turn to start the season on a bye with the second bye on week 6. Whatever, Bombers will play Riders 5 times (including preseason) & Stamps week 5, 7, & 10. All good rivals. Interesting “Stampeders bowl” Troy Westwood, time for you to work your magic and turn this into a home and home event with your twisted sense of humour. Can’t wait for the party to begin.

possible complaints I can see people making.

Sasky having a home game to start week 1 on a Thursday night. Most Saskies were hoping for a Saturday because of the fans from out of town.

BC Lions at home 10 ET in week 1. Would be nice to not have a double header on the Saturday and a game on Sunday afternoon instead. The good news is that they are playing against a western opponent so the people in the east aren’t affected unless they are diehards.

We don’t get a Sunday game until June 29. Perhaps someone complained about Sunday games and the NHL finals or having games before a work/school day. Looks like they are starting CTV games in August this year. That’s the end of the Sunday games until Grey Cup.

Week 5 and 8: Calgary go stuck with the Thursday night game.

Only 3 games on Labour day weekend.

Triple header on Saturday right around when College/NFL start up. Not sure that makes sense. Week 14

Weeks 16/20/21 could have some overlap if 1st Friday night game drags on. They could potentially delay game 2 if this happens.

I’ve seen worse schedules but I’d still like to see more 7:30 ET Thursday and Friday night games. Mostly to have a little consistency for when the games are on.

what the hell is with the Pre-Season? why are teams playing each other in both pre-season games? this is the stupidest, most ridiculous idea ever!

FINALLY…some more afternoon games, especially in Autumn, this season in Winnipeg! This is better when the weather starts to change & get colder. Games in Oct. & Nov., in WPG, should always be in the afternoon, NOT in the evening. I’d like to see the G.C. game played at 3p.m. or 4p.m. It’s usually colder outside after sunset in WPG. The CFL clubs should have more of a say in the schedule, NOT T.S.N. or the league head office in T.O.!

Recurring annual complaint such as follows coming in 10…9…8…
:smirk:

“What the heck CFL! It’s not bad enough you are LATE to release the 2025 schedule, but Weeks W, X, Y, and Z DO NOT fit my PERSONAL and FAMILY summer and autumn trip schedule! Damn you Ambrosie!”

I actually like home games Thursday night. From saskatoon, south to Regina 2.5 hours, watch game, come home late, take Friday off go to the lake north1.5 hours, no interruption on the weekend. No chance I’m driving 4 hours to a game mid weekend. That said, I’m happy watching from the boat on my phone Friday night, Saturday afternoon, whenever…. The cfl schedule is built for no one man!

Not a fan of mid afternoon games to be honest. Prefer evening, I understand Labour day and Thanksgiving but not others…

Overall I like the 2025 schedule. I prefer no start of the season until June too.

Also noteworthy is that in August, there is only one game on Sunday, and that game is during Labour Day weekend.

Would be a challenge if Canadian teams are in the Stanley Cup Final Series although it may be 1 or 2 games that might overlap.

Afternoon games are better for kids/families. In Montreal’s case there are some evening games that are not sold out so doing something family friendly isn’t the worst idea. Also an afternoon game in the eastern time zone is a reasonable start time in Europe which is important for overseas gambling.
