I just watched the Manningcast for the first time on TSN+ and was quite impressed with how it was managed.
Now I will disclaimer this by saying that die-hards will probably prefer to watch the traditional broadcasts but I think this is a great way to get more viewership on the league. The Manning brothers made great observations and brought in guests that love the NFL game. You also got to see them react as fans which is fun.
My question to you all is that if the CFL did a similar streaming project, who would you want to host? I would start with suggesting Paul LaPolice and maybe Henry Burris.
I have seen the Manning cast before. I have always loved Peyton. The smartest QB ever to play the game by a landslide and the most media savvy and media friendly player ever. His commercials are legendary (rub a little dirt on it) as are his SNL skits. In his prime 90% of all NFL marketing involved Peyton, with Brett Favre next at 4%.
So unfortunately there is no approaching the GOAT for the CFL or NFL, but who would I like to see here? Thinking of those I know and broadcasting the best two
I can think of are Stegall and Dunigan. I think you need a little zaniness and they both have it. And one is the GOAT at his position and Matt is near GOAT. There may be other worthy candidates I haven’t thought of off hand.
