CFL Injury Reports: Week 10

TORONTO — Week 10’s injury reports for all teams will be housed here and will be updated daily.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://www.cfl.ca/2024/08/05/cfl-injury-reports-week-10

The SkRrs putting all their hopes on a oft injured qb both costly to their pocket book and their on field aspirations of winning a championship title in the CFL.

I see Harris sitting 2 more weeks UNLESS the Riders lose this coming week when they may take him off early - save some CAP salary if he stays put for the full 6 weeks.

That and little doubt they want him at 100% when he comes back.

Looking at the injury list though - Patterson better be ready to run Thursday behind a patched together O-Line that allowed the Elks three sacks last week.

Dedmon back on Thursday, going to be a double threat with Pimpleton.

Pantsonfire;

Over on the other channel (3downnation) there’s a very interesting column on Trevor Harris with a breakdown down of his player contract. Also - Trevor Harris won’t be playing against the Ottawa REDBLACKS this upcoming Thursday.

Yeah, I read that. They seem to infer that Harris may have put in 6 games after this week so maybe he’s only away 1 more game.

Also watch for some trades before the final deadline if someone is clearly out of the playoff race. In 2022 Elks tried to trade Lawler back to the Bombers late but he got injured & it fell through. It’s a good time to dump high priced talent for a non-playoff team & low cost to a contender to get someone to push them over the top.

TBH…I pay very little attention to 3dn anymore. Mostly clickbait and poorly written and researched stuff.

Nice to see Tyrie Adams back and available for the RB’s.

As for the Riders - lots of guys out this week, most notably Thurman, Ouellette, Sceviour, Brammer KeeSean Johnson, Straker. That’s a premier RB, two O-Linemen, starting MLB, and a receiver.

Today we get to see the Lions and Elks reports…

I find that 3DN has some biases towards certain (West) teams. But I do pop in on their stuff once a week for the reads.

I think a lot of that is “rent a players” like the NHL has, guys in the last year of their contract, headed to free agency.

It will be hard to make changes for some teams though because the schedule and how tight the standings could be in a couple weeks - or even next week.
they are also playing their 4th game against west opponents this week.

Elks week 13 through 19 (except the bye week 15) are all west games including three games vs Calgary, two vs Winnipeg and our last game against Saskatchewan. Yeah, great schedule Calgary x 2, then Winnipeg x2 then Saskatchewan and Calgary yet again.

The schedule does what a Shop Vac does. Back to back games, except Labour Day and return suck suck suck…

Can’t stand back-to-back games against the same team. Hate 'em. In a small league, you DO NOT want to give people the impression that their team is facing the same opposition over and over. This isn’t baseball.

Spread those games out.

But they have Masoli listed as the number 3 behind Brown and Crum.

Yup. 5 teams in the west and the Elks don’t see two of them until September. And then 6 of the last 7 games are vs 3 west teams.

And Sunday is the Elks last home game until September 7.

Don’t like the schedule BUT teams can catch up real fast with so many “4 pointers”. It can be advantageous. But yeah, get rid of the doubleheaders other than Labor Day.

Guess it depends who wins too…when you play like that and zoom to playoff position other teams won’t want to do that again…

Speaking of injuries, the next time the riders have someone standing at their sideline bench in Ottawa beaking off its best they don’t mess any further with Jules Winnfield, Opps Samuel L Jackson, Opps Ottawa Head Coach Bob Dyce (got it right) because he’ll rain down his Ezekiel Fire and Brimstone and that’s not going to turn out very good for any sideline goof yakking off. Don’t mess with the wrath of Bob Dyce and his REDBLACKS.

Which means they will get more home games in the second half of the season, which is more important.
