CFL Free Agents

From the Vancouver Province: http://communities.canada.com/theprovin ... gents.aspx

"It's a little early to get overly wound up about a list of potential CFL free agents when teams can't do anything but re-sign its own players until Feb . 15, but it's December and just about anything passes for news these days. For those who like thinking ahead, consider this unofficial list an early Christmas present. Also see story in Friday's Province"

Wow, sounds like someone is waiting for Santa. There is no way in a thousand yrs. Montreal will give up sj green.
Browner from Calgary? They can keep him, the biggest cheat in the league and probably cost Calgary a shot at the cup this yr.
Bauman to Winnipeg? If I were in his shoes I would stay put. Winnipeg isn't going to do anything for the next 4-5 yrs the way they are going.

An early Christmas present to unwrap from Llowel Ullrich of the Vancouver Province

The Ticats have only one American free agent Geoffrey Tisdale

I definitely want him back

You guys argue over which Canadian Ticats you want to bring back.

Here are the Ticats FAs as of Feb. 16.

WR Steve Schmidt*
OL Brian Ramsay*
WR Chris Bauman*
OL Alex Gauthier*
OL George Hudson*
DB Geoff Tisdale
DL Jermaine Reid *
WR Adam Nicholson*

*non-import

P.S.

Which of ex-Ticat would any of you guys like back, if any?

CB Dwight Anderson
DB Chris Thompson
OL Wayne Smith
DL Adriano Belli
SB Chad Rempel
DL J.P. Bekasiak

The one ex-Ticat above all I would take back is Dwight Anderson.

I would take him back in a hearbeat...speed and intensity to burn.

I'd put Chris Thompson as #1 from that list, over Anderson.

I'd say that the most important NI free agents for Hamilton to re-sign are Chris Bauman and Jermaine Reid. Both showed starter potential in the last several games - must sign if possible. Gauthier would also be a good idea for at least another year. Ramsay also as a potential replacement for Gauthier and for necessary depth, should another team not offer more. The rest are entirely expendable in my opinion.

Thanks for providing zen! I thought that AC had another year under his contract though, so is it possible that he just retires?

The Als are not going to let SJ Green walk.

Who knows, maybe he’d want to sign elsewhere.I mean who in their right mind predicted the PK Sam for Jermaine Copeland trade last year?Sending their best WR to T.O. for a has been.Go figure.

But that might not within their control. If he becomes a Free Agent, then he’s a FREE AGENT and can sign anywhere he pleases.

They will throw the bank at him before free agency begins. This kid is the next Jamel Richardson.

Free Agents that i think we should take a look at :

A – Top Priority
B = Medium Priority

A

RB MTL COBOURNE, Avon – We need a hard nose running back like this . He can run past you or through you and he might be looking for a change as he was not happy with how many touches he had last year

Any 2 of these Defensive backs would be great …We could really use a good cover guy that can play Corner . I left Anderson off this list because he is a head case and not disciplined .

SHELL, Lin-J
HEFNEY, Jonathan
FRAZIER, Lance
BROWNER, Brandon
THOMPSON, Chris

B

WR MTL GREEN, S.J. – The next big star receiver in the CFL . Showee well in the Grey Cup . Will be hard to get and may go the NFL

LB WPG LOBENDAHN, Joe Maybe the best MLB in he league ..young , fast and strong and Floyd likely in his last year

QB BC JACKSON, Jarious - I am still don’t think Glenn can win the big game or take us to the next level . In the CFL you need to be able to run a bit but there have been exceptions like Calvillo , Dieter Brock,Danny MAC

Green has been with Montreal since 2007. I’m gonna go out on a limb and suggest that the Als can probably retain many quality players for LESS money given the likely, ahem, fringe benefits of being a young pro athlete in Montreal.

Of all the free agents available out there I would like to see these two guys come to the Cats;

  1. Chris Thompson
  2. Brandon Browner

The reasons are glaringly apparent after watching our secondary this year.

Hope Obie takes a stab at getting these two.

Merry Christmas to all!

No to Browner.Absolutely hate how he get's away with EVERYTHING and thinks he's good for it.When he does get called, he throws on the the halo and the ol' "Me?!?Why whuteva do you mean suh?"
I'd really rather not have the biggest cheater in the game thanks.
Thompson, Drew, and Goss or Anderson yes.Browner, HELL NO.
