That is actually a pretty solid looking preliminary roster on paper.

The B.C. Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers have once again paced the league with their Canadian content, earning additional draft capital for the second straight year.

B.C. is currently slated to pick third overall in this year’s draft but is expected to forfeit that selection due to salary cap violations. With the additional pick, they’ll still hold three of the top 20 selections — the ninth overall pick acquired in the Vernon Adams Jr. trade, 12th overall, and 19th overall. Winnipeg will also pick three times in the top 20 and currently holds the seventh overall, 16th overall, and 18th overall selections.

More details regarding the Lions, likely, having to forfeit their first round, and possibly a second round, also, draft pick:

There’s a LOT of info in that article of which I was unaware.

I will continue my campaign on this being the single dumbest rule the league has ever implemented.

The reward for having the best Canadians is… More Canadian draft picks.

So stupid, so CFL.

Ed Hervey has signed, to be an Elk, the player he picked in the 6th round of last year’s draft, DB Jonathan Giustini, from Calgary. He attended the ‘24 TiCats’ training camp, returned for another year at U. Alberta, then signed, here, at the end of November, and was released 6 days ago.

One of the biggest pant-loads in Canadian sports “journalism”.
I’m happy that he has to find a new career.
