1st time an injury to a starting QB or an underperforming starting QB,
Dane will get the Lions a kings ransom in picks and prospects with that contract!
Thatâs if the Lions donât end up needing Dane themselves.
That surprises me to no end.
Are you saying that even with a restructured contract, the Cats did not give him more?
I am sure they offered him $200k to be a backup .
If he turned that down, he really wanted to get out of Hamilton, methinks.

On a different note - former Allouette great Glen Weir passed away.
That base salary is just over League MinimumâŚ
Good luck finding housing in Vancouver for $1100 / month!
$13,800 in housing money
He usually goes back home in the offseason, so for 7 months his family can get by. But it wonât be a big place.
No ⌠he calls SOME of Hamiltonians racist.
Not gonna argue semantics here⌠But Jalen Brown did say SOME Celtics fans and Brandon Banks didnât say SOME of his life.
Boston fans have a reputation, Banks just suggested Hamilton is the same.
Not surprising when you see stories on the news all the time with racist slogans/symbols/epithets painted across peopleâs garage doors, synagogues, rainbow flags burned etc. Itâs everywhere else too but just seems to have gotten worse (and maybe reported more frequently). Lots of intolerance for a city/country that was always viewed as welcoming.
Poor Speedy. Must have been rough.
In the CONTEXT of citing the Jalen Brown post ⌠IMO not semantics, just logic
Classic small man syndrome weâve come to know from Banks.
He should just delete his twitter (again).
This is a very simple question for Speedy .
If you really honestly felt like it was so shitty and racist here in the Hammer as opposed to somewhere else ? then kindly explain why you chose to spend eight (8) years of your career here when you had ample opportunity to leave during that time and go elsewhere ?
He actually clarified and said 50% in a since deleted tweet.
Only 50%? There isnât a person on this planet, of any race, who hasnât told or laughed at an off colour/ stereotypical joke, done a double take when a minority walks into a store, taken a second glance at a mixed race couple etc. Racism is subtle and also over the top. But no doubt as a black man living in a predominantly white city, heâs probably experienced it in many forms, as would many other black players in cities across the country. Toronto has changed tremendously over the years and tolerance usually grows as cultures have time to live together, and I wouldnât doubt he felt more comfortable there. But the subtle biases will always remain.
Iâd argue he should feel more comfortable here than North Carolina. But thatâs just me.
I would think he should - but doesnât mean he doesnât experience racism here too. Problem with twitter is four words doesnât really convey much information. Was he treated badly by cops, stares on the street, called the N word etc ? I think when you put out a statement like he did you should actually put some context behind it, so the people youâre directing it at might actually understand where youâre coming from.
If he deleted the post,
We should think he had second thoughts about posting it
If he actually felt strongly about wanting to call our racism in society he would have done exactly that. But his two tweets would suggest he was a victim of racism very often and really doesnât appear (in my opinion) that he would have tweeted that if he was still a Ticat.
Multiple tweets since he left would suggest heâs still a bit bitter with how it ended.
And as Bobo said, he had multiple opportunities to leave Hamilton over his 8 year career and never really appeared he was close to.
