The Toronto Argonauts announced Wednesday the signing of American wide receiver Dontrelle Inman.
The 34-year-old returns to Boatmen 10 years removed from his last appearance for the Argonauts, when during the 2012 season, Inman caught 50 passes for 803 yards and five touchdowns.
His efforts helped the Argos win the 2012 Grey Cup at SkyDome over the Calgary Stampeders, catching five passes for 43 yards and a touchdown.
The following season, the Charleston, S.C., native hauled in 50 more passes for 739 yards and six touchdowns before being released to pursue NFL opportunities.
Inman spent the last seven years in the NFL with Washington, the Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears and the San Diego Chargers.
The Virginia product best season came in 2016 when he caught 58 passes for 810 yards and four touchdowns for the then San Diego-based Chargers.

Inman either truly loves the game or he’s run out of money . I’d go for the love of the game .
Great article. Thanks for sharing DCP. Makes me proud to be a CFL fan.
It’s a story that has happened hundreds of times, but rarely gets mentioned. American players, especially people of colour, come up here to get some game film for another NFL attempt, fall in love with the city, Province, Country, get married, start a family, and before they know it, they have had a good football career, and maybe a new home.
We have all read/heard the stories of Ticat players with off-season jobs - most often the steel mills - in the city in past decades.
Sometimes looking at past decades can actually be informative .
Macbeth makes a pretty compelling sales pitch:
“I throw with guys in the NFL in the offseason. I know I can throw with them, I know I can play at that level. It’s a shot and an opportunity, why not? I’ve got a couple more years left at least of playing. Why not open up that door and chase the impossible if you’re going to choose this thing?”

So he’ll be 35 this summer and has two seasons left in him (unless the USFL season counts as one of those two), and zero NFL stats. Just what NFL teams are looking for. His agent’s phone will be buzzing non-stop.
I don’t know if he will make the shield but he has my respect for not giving up.
My only question is - do NFL scouts see the XFL or USFL as a better league for a QB to show their potential vs the CFL?
Just down the hall, from Nathan Rouke's new locker, comes this news:
I guess this qualifies as "Non-Tiger-Cat" news, now.
I admired our 2019 11th overall pick's work ethic and what he showed, when he got the ball in his hands. Happy for him, that he gets a chance to continue his CFL career.
Well with this signing that officially leaves only two of our former FA’s in Newton and Okafor that haven’t found a new home elsewhere either here or south of the border .
Newton's a good special teamer and Okafor is depth OL/ DL . Both are Canadian . They are one injury away from a CFL roster .

Haunt factor 4/10.
Meanwhile in Winnipeg they are selling off an overstock of "ugly gloves" at a bargain basement price .
Score one for the Winnipeg store, but my favourite shot of that great rivary remains this .....
It’s a good thing that he already has the shaved down right to the wood bald look because that is one massive haircut of a drop down in salary for him .
I honestly wish him well on the left coast and truly hope that things turn out for the better for him… with the exception of course of when he plays us .
