CFL Contract Questions

Hey Folks,

Does anyone know if CFL contracts are guaranteed for the length of the contract? If you cut a player, do you need to buyout the remainder of the contract and does it count against the Salary Management System?

I beg for your education on these questions.

I don't believe that contracts are guarnateed.

The only real guarantee is if you are a veteran (6 years in the league) and are cut after the 10th game of the season, you get the money that is owed to you for the rest of the season.

8) It's obvious that Head Coaches contracts are guaranteed, since any of them that are fired, end up being paid for the balance of their contract, or are offered a buyout package at termination !!!

The fact that KK and Printers do not have guaranteed contracts makes me think that one way or another neither will be with the team next season....just a hunch

Correct Once the Season is over the Contracts are not guaranteed Again.
This till that 10th game for the vets (6+ years only)

There are lots of reasons Casey hasn't gotten in rythym
in the last 1 1/2 years he has been back in the CFL

after 2 years on the bench in the NFL.

This is no time to give up on him.

Our receivers are playing much better now
and the O-line usually pass blocks better.

We need 2 quarterbacks. The more proven, the better.

We have to pay Casey big bucks but we don't
have to pay starter wages to the other QBs,

they are all being paid bargain basement wages.

P.S.

If we let him go, another team in the East could sign him
for a lot less money and he could come back to haunt us.
