CFL 2012 DRAFT PREDICTION

who else was drafted in the nfl draft, was shamawd chambers drafted

Only Crawford and Akim Hicks were drafted to the best of my knowledge , Heenan and Chambers if drafted wouldn’t be till 6th or 7th round

Phil Blake-3rd round choice of the Als in 2011- has been drafted by the Denver Broncos,in the fourth round.

I am positive that Heenan and Chambers will not be drafted by an NFL team; could be signed as free agents, but not drafted.

I don't know who will be drafted or not by the NFL. I would like to change the tone of what I earlier wrote; I should have written: I will be surprised if Keenan and Chambers are drafted by an NFL team; I would not be surprised if they are both signed as free agents by NFL teams. The same with regards to Austin Pasztor,Frederic Plesius,Christo Bilukidi and Ameet Pall. All these players could be signed as NFL free agents, particularly due to the fact that NFL teams can now invite 10 more players-up to 90- to their training camps. Not good news to CFL.

Richard

Ranked 6th in CFL draft; DE Christo Bilukidi - 6th round pick by the Raiders…

Between draft and FA contracts. Could be close to 10 of the best prospects that won’t be available to CFL teams and with the expanded training camp roster. They likely will get longer looks. Going to be serious gambling going on at the draft next week.

Finally, only 2 players eligible for this year CFL draft have been selected by NFL teams; they are: Tyrone Crawford-DE- in the 3rd round by the Dallas Cowboys and Christo Bilukidi-DE- in the 6th round by the Oakland Raiders. My only surprise was Bilukidi; I had expected that he would be signed as a free agent.

How many of this year eligible players to the CFL draft will be signed as NFL free agents? I could be /hope to be wrong but I don’t expect too many. Austin Pasztor-OL-.Frederic Plesius-LB-Ammeet Pall-DE- are possibilities. Moe Petrus-OL= drafted by Hamilton in 2011-round 2- is a possibility.

We will know in the next 12 to 24 hours.

Richard

I’m surprised Pasztor wasn’t picked up in one of the last two rounds. Ticat management will be relieved Petrus wasn’t drafted. Now comes the FA signings…

Austin Pasztor - OL (CFL 4th rank) was one of the fifteen free agents signed by Minnesota…

The major difference/what will affect the CFL draft the most, is the increase of 10 players to NFL training camp rosters.

Take the Vikings;they signed/took 15 free agents, including Pasztor; it would have been 5 without the 10 players increase. While most of these players/free agents, including eligible players to CFL draft, will eventually be released, it will not be much before early September, when the CFL season "half over".

For me, I do hope that my team-the Als- draft the best players available,no matter if they have been signed as free agents by NFL teams, when their turn come to select. I agree that they should not lose an early choice on Crawford, drafted in round 3 by Dallas, but I won't mind if they draft players such as Bilukidi,Pasztor, etc.,even with their 1st selection in round 2.

...holy moley, I just realized the stamps have 9 picks this year...compared to the rest of their western division rivals (S:3/E:4/BC:5) that is huge...Huf also tends to draft players that can make an immediate impact (Cornish, Tsoumpas, Arthur, Maver, etc.) so I'm looking forward to this year's haul....

I have really felt since Huff took over in Calgary that he has imbraced the importance of Canadian talent and the Canadian Draft. While many other teams are eager to trade away draft pics for established import players, The stamps hold onto draft pics like a million dollar bill. I notice wth almost all trades the stamps have made, they often come with draft pics in return. I also like that the stamps are often tryin to keep the local talent in Calgary. would be nice if there was a d-league of football Like the NBA has, so if your draft pic doesnt make it that year, they can go to the farm system. But i dont see that ever happening.

In the last 18 hours, the 32 NFL teams have signed 484 undrafted free agents, for an average of 15 players per team; of these 484, only Austin Pasztor is a canadian and eligible for the May 3rd CFL draft.

While there could still be a few more signings, particularly by New England, since they only signed 4, so far only 3 canadians eligible for the May 3rd draft have been drafted/signed. Crawford and Bilukidi were drafted respectively by Dallas and Oakland whereas Pasztor was signed as an undrafted by Minnesota.

seems like you gotta be something pretty special to last more then a few season in the NFL. With the smaller CFL rosters, spending a late draft pick on an NFLer seems like a good idea, as you can fill your roster with other Canadian talent while the NFL develops your draft pick for you.

I wonder if this change things in the draft; Chambers to attend Eagles mini-camp.

I don’t think there is room on Stamps roster for 9 guys but it puts your team in a real nice spot to take futures.

Pretty much. Aside from Heenan, there likely isn’t one other guy who can come in and start. So you combine that with two year contracts now the norm and its all a wash.

Big Ben #1 for Sask??? Be Careful with that! Buss words are that he's at LEAST 3 Years from being a starter????
With had said 2 or 3 drafted NFL canadian players will get a shot for 1 or 2 years in NFL and be back in 3 years as starters
after there development... Picking drafts just got a little harder!!!!!!!!!

With Chambers trying out for the Eagles. Big Ben is guaranteed a Rider.
