Very interesting! Lots of big bruisers on that list…just what NFL teams like.

Love Nathan Rourke…CFL star in the making

Hey Pat,
Looks great, thanks for posting

Hey Grover . Apparently old dogs can learn with the help of a computer smart wife .

Pat Lynch ( Grover is the man )

Hey, lots of “hey” flying around here.;D

The Buffalo Bulls and their 6 Canadian players take the field today at 2 PM in the Bahamas Bowl . Kent State plays at 7:30 PM .

#78 Zach Corrigall DL JR for Kent State sounds familiar to Argo fans . He’s from Akron Ohio but I seem to recall that Jim Corrigall also played at Kent State back in the day .

I love the bowl season.

Pat Lynch (the elderly dude)

Zach is Jim Corrigall’s grandson. Don’t know if he can qualify as a National or not. His Father Jim Jr. would be a Canadian citizen or at least have dual citizenship.

Ffffftttt!!! Sham American football spectacles all.

::slight_smile:

It’s football ! Would you rather watch soccer or professional wrestling or darts ?

I’m trying to highlight Canadian kids playing football in December and January .

If you don’t like football , what are you doing on this site ? ::slight_smile:

Pat Lynch ( shaking my head in disbelief )

Just wanted to take a moment to congratulate former Ticats Head Coach and GM Kent Austin on Liberty’s first bowl win.

They finished 8-5. And after an 0-2 start many of the Ticats.ca CFB experts were laughing at them.

I was laughing at the head coach laying in a dentist chair. Wacky season at a weird school.

Need to know how easy the schedule was.

The Flames lost to Syracuse , Louisiana , Rutgers , BYU , and Virginia . They beat New Mex St. twice, Buffalo, Hampton , New Mexico, U Mass. and the Maine Black Bears .

They play as an independent like Notre Dame but their schedule is rather like half Division 1 teams and half Div. 2 - type teams .

Their wins and losses this year reflect that reality .

Pat Lynch (the old person )

Right on cue.

You must have flipped a coin between, how easy the schedule was or how good was their starting field position. Tough call either way. The anomaly might be explained by Austin’s Co-Offensive Coordinator tried running the ball during the fall/winter weather.

From what I watched they improved as the season went on, under a 1st year coach and new staff they did pretty well all things considered.

They could easily hang tough in some of the lower D1 conferences.

Winning your school’s first bowl game is no joke. The funding and exposure for the program goes through the roof.

Happy to see Kent in a good spot clearly enjoying the game. He didn’t need this job so good for him.

This. It’s a notable success given limited resources of a small school and challenging recruitment. Feather in his cap, really.

Liberty was shut out in their first game 0 - 24 . The D gave up 35 points to Louisiana, 44 to Rutgers , and 55 to Virginia . All were losses .

Some of the more optimistic views on Liberty’s season don’t seem based in reality . Just sayin’ .

Pat Lynch (the glass is half broken)

Nobody is putting them in the CFB playoff. While their schedule was soft by D1 standards, anytime a team makes it to their first bowl game in school history and as a 5.5 underdog wins the game, it’s an accomplishment.

There’s a ton of schools out there that would absolutely love to win the Cure Bowl.
