Cauz: Which West QBs have the most to prove?

It’s time for Part II of my Most to Prove-O-Metre ranking with CFL quarterbacks and this time we jump over to the West Division. The West is an interesting mix of young quarterbacks looking to make their mark on the league, older veterans looking to finally reach the mountaintop and one player who has been there and done that. I’d rearrange the top three spots. Trevor Harris clearly has less to prove than either Maier or Cornelius. Only the hotbed of Regina spikes his score. Taylor Cornelius has won less games in his career than Jake Maier did last season and he has yet to win at home, ever. If I’m an Elks fan he has far more to prove to me than Maier does to Calgary fans.

Yep. Taylor Cornelius has a lot to prove all right. A close second is Dane Evans. Hamilton gave up on him last season so IMHO Dane’s gotta show them what they missed. Otherwise he might always be a backup going forward.

I have watched Cornelius from his Oklahoma days. While he seems to have all the tools, he has just ever been able to reach that point that his talent should porduce. At times, (wish ing for many more than is the past) I shines, but on average he is just that, AVERAGE. I can remember the fans in Tampa standing and demanding he be pulled because of an aparent lack of production While Beaudry is a bit unproven the Elks have little to lose in view of thier last two efforts. Beaudry looked good in his short time he played last season. He did have a +70% passing rate inhis final college outing. Either way the Elks need to find thier man and soon.

I think Trevor Harris has the most to prove. Imagine the climate in Riderville if the Riders drop their first regular season game and at the same time Montreal under Cody, wins their first game. I can only hope that Trevor can get a few wins under his belt early on to provide a little breathing room.
