Ejiro Kuale.
But anytime a team that’s 4-8 (now 4-9) is talking trash or guaranteeing victory, take it with a grain of salt.
So does Barker come back next season?
You could say that he has a mediocre team on paper and he doesn’t have the tools to win, but the problem with that is that he’s also the GM. Either way, this falls on his feet.
The game was poised to turn on the pick by Schell, last year, the Argos would have taken it back, this year, they fumble it right back, story of their season.
Just got back from the dome.
Same old same old.
A few positives, Jyles is getting better with each game but the season is over and realistically has been for a while.
A new coach perhaps, definitely a new OC, receivers are all weak and the worst in the league, so is the o line.
Heavy on recruiting should be the prime concern for both in the US and CIS and most definitely for the FA.
Wow, what a mess.
The Toronto Argonauts, who have had trouble scoring touchdowns in the red zone this season, took a different approach Saturday night. In one of their most feeble offensive shows in a season of offensive ineptitude, they basically avoided the red zone and settled for four field goals by Noel Prefontaine
producing only 12 first downs and amassing a pathetic 271 yards of offence
running back Cory Boyd was limited to only 11 carries
THOSE are the reasons the Argos lost. . . not the officiating.
That said, yes, Belton Johnson should have been penalized and ejected for the leg whip on Foley.
But that non-call, and any other non-calls you care to point out, do not alter the above noted factors in any appreciable way.
Regardless of the officiating, Toronto is going nowhere with that offence.
Top running back in the league and you give him the ball 11 times? Sign Rodriguez for a deep threat, and then throw to him once (and a short one at that)? Jyles hobbled by a bad ankle late and they keep putting him out on the field? Sorry, Elizondo has much to answer for, as does Barker.
....I read in the paper today that during the pre-game intros the Agros relied on their cheerleading squad to form a protective barrier around their centre-field emblem...
.....are.....you....serious? the human shield approach often used by terrorists and low-life bank robbers?
..if you need the assistance of your pretty little pom-pom girls to establish your home field right of dominance you've just jumped the shark for the season, what's next week? a local girl-scout chapter? First Baptist seniors auxiliary tea club? recruit some neo-natal newborns from St. Michael's?
It was 14-3 Hamilton in the second quarter, and penalties had nothing to do with that at all. Just poor play on offense. You can't take two picks from the D and turn them into two and outs if you hope to win.
The offense is bad, period. It's been bad all year.
