Good news. I know many people don't care about Beveridge, but I'm happy to have him back. Carter was a beast on ST.

His knowledge right now is worth a lot more than speed. I'd say he's been a model Tiger-Cat and leads by example.
He's always been a very personable guy and is never full of himself. He could very well be part of this organization for many years to come in various capacities even once he hangs up the pads and cleats.
Nice job Obie. Experience, depth, and continuity. You gotta love it!

I agree with deerhunter. I've always liked Sandy Beveridge. He's a solid player, a good team player. I'm glad he's back.

It seems that some fans have forgotten about Sandy's mediocre play all season long. Frankly, I'll take Barker's upside over Beveridge's "knowledge" any day.
Sandy is waaaaaaay too slow and was usually playing catch-up after he got burned in the middle. You shouldn’t get an extension based solely on the fact that you are a nice guy or you have always played on the same team, etc, etc. Maybe if you were a real star that is heading into the twilight of your career but Sandy has never been a consistent stand out player (a la Hitchcock). His only saving grace is that he is a non-import. If he wasn’t, he wouldn’t be back. No big deal on this one for me.
Glad to see Carter re-signed though… tough on special teams and has good upside for more years to come.
I think Ticat fans are spoiled in that we've had 3 of the best all-time playing Middle Safeties - Garney Henley, Paul Bennett and Paul Hitchcock. When held up to that standard there are not too many players out there who would measure up. I think Beveridge is okay as a Middle Safety, but we definitely need someone who is better than just okay.
Both Beveridge and Carter are good to have on special teams and they give us NI depth on defence. It's good to know that they will both be back. I have criticized Beveridge in the past, but it'll be good to have him here, especially if Barker gets injured.
According to two different websites, we now have only two FAs on our roster: John Williams and Cedric Gagne-Marcoux. I can see us losing the latter of those two after comments he made some time ago. It is on these two websites where you can see which FAs each team has:

Agreed. I prefer Barker to start at safety, but Beveridge does have some value exactly as described .

At the very least Beveridge provides some security should Barker get injured. It’s not like the guy can’t play – it’s just that he isn’t as good as Barker.
I really liked what both of these guys had to say about their role with the team.
Carter's comment about his mom was especially funny. I'm really happy to have two good team guys here and I know they will both continute to make a positive contribution to the team.

Cedric’s comments last September were in French, but the Spec article concluded:
“I haven’t made that decision. We’re a young team and we’re rebuilding. If I’m part of the solution, perfect. I don’t where I’m going to be next year,” Gagne-Marcoux said.
“I just want people to know that I’m happy here and I’m proud to be a Ticat.”
So maybe we will see Cedric in Black and Gold again.

Just look at the Big Draw play the Lions had in the OT in the eastern semi,…Beverage IMO would have read it and stopped them short of a first down. If he couldnt play at CFL level he would not be here!
