Caretaker's Update- Feb 10/10

For those who have not yet seen the latest "Caretaker's Update", here it is:

http://ticats.ca/video/index/id/10571

Bob Young’s the greatest, always such a fun guy to talk to.

Bob Really did say much new .. We heard most of it before.

Encouraging comments about the Stadium IMO thanks CareTaker

What did Bob say about the stadium? Haven't listened to it yet.

That Hamilton is getting a new stadium,in the best interest of the City, and where it will provide the most economic benefit  I suggest you listen to Mr Young.

He said that they were still working on the more controversial aspects of the stadium like the location. Not a ringing endorsement of anything really. After that I have no idea whether the Ticats and the city are still butting heads over location but it almost appears that way

Till The Location is in Stone we have to keep worrying ..

I Worry till the Shovels are in Ground

Please point out the part of Caretakers statement that led you to this missinformation?

Nothing that we don’t already know. Just vague generalities. No specifics at all.

Pretty much said they’re stil working with the city on some apsects of it, and to stanby to learn about the selected site when that happens.

The big news is the “Bob Hat”!!!
We have not heard that before. :rockin:

It starts at 2:42 of the video.

He says that we are still working on some of the more controversial aspects of the games like the location of the stadium. He continues to say that they are working on locating the stadium in the location where it can generate money to make it a good investment for the city. He continues further to say “its up in the air”

Mass I cannot interpret that as being anything but … negotiations on site selection are ongoing. The one thing he DID say clearly and without reservation is that the stadium will be located in the city of Hamilton

More precisley he says, “…is still somewhat up in the air”

Well we all know that it “is still somewhat up in the air”. All that means is that the sight has yet to been given a green.

He also goes on to say that the issues will be worked out in “the next few weeks”.

Well I interpret as meaning that he’s still hopeful of a site other than the one being pushed by city hall but is of the belief he’ll have to settle for something less than perfect. The thing about intepreting these things is that nobody is wrong, its just an opinion. The only facts we heard is that the site will be in Hamilton and site selection is not final

AKT: Just what information do you have to make this conclusion?

Unless you were tapping into to dozens of phone conversations and spied on closed door meetings, how do you know there has not been an agreement on the location?
How do you know that just because things are not finalized yet that there could be some legal loophole or holdup that still has to be solved? Or something else none of us could possibly know?
Why would the caretaker give us a timeline of "the next few weeks" if "they are still butting heads over location"?
You could be right of course because your are just guessing. But unless you have first hand knowledge your comments are worthless at this point.
If you want any of us to pay any attention at all to what you write, you might want to think a little more and not conclude that everyone involved is a fool.
Raise questions. Make suggestions. But spare us the uninformed and unsubstantiated conclusions.
     Thanks.

I stated as an opinion. Whether you agree with me or not doesn't matter. You are entitled to state your opinion that things are already agreed upon and I'm entited to state my opinion that it APPEARS they MAY not be. Sheesh

Where did he state that?

and I'm entited to state my opinion that it APPEARS they MAY not be. Sheesh
That's lot different than, "I have no idea whether the Ticats and the city are still butting heads over location but it almost appears that way"

AKT: I did NOT say that.
Pay attention to what has been written before you respond!!!!

I don't like the sound of Bob's comment that
the stadium's location is 'somewhat up in the air.'

Why? because he has 'the hammer'

It sounds like there is another location
in Bob's mind, in Hamilton this time.

Remember, at least $50 million dollars of private funding
is needed to bring the Pan Am stadium to CFL standards.

The city needs a big contribution from the Tiger Cats

and the Ticats are being counted on by the city
to be the stadium's primary long term tenant.

I trust Bob to make a big contribution but
the happier Bob is with the stadium's location,

the more persuasive he will be in
attracting other private investors.

Ron:

Good points.
But he does seem optimistic that it will all be settled soon. So maybe he and everyone involved is close to an agreement. That would be good news.
