Cousin Vinny is amazing . Every year he researches the NCAA Cdn. players in the 3000 bowl games . Thank you. Thank you. Thank you .

TiCat and CFL Draft fans can do some early scouting over the holidays, thanks to Vinny .

Pat Lynch (the old guy who’s a Big Vinny fan)

How soon before we sign Nick Mardner? ;D

X2. Awesome info. Thanks Vinny.

Just watching some video on the Ohio vs Virginia game. That Rourke kid looks pretty accurate and Irons looks like he could be starting RB in the CFL.

Fantastic job Vinny.

Great to see a large amount of quality players who we could see up in the CFL one day soon

Mardner is a freshman from Mississauga and the U. of Hawaii. 3 years from now he would be eligible for the draft.

Pat Lynch (the old guy)

Wow thanks so much for all this bowl info of Canadian players. I thought I knew of all the Bowl games and I was sadly mistaken. I do think you missed the Toilet Bowl where top prospect Rb Jim Tidey is to be watched closely. On a serious note , it will be interesting to see what the cats will do with their 2knd overall pick as there are two front running dlineman in Betts from Laval and lokumbo from Tennesee. It will be interesting as both are on the NFL’s radar and we’d hate to waste another top 2 pick like we did with chapman. Dline is an area we could use a guy to step in and maybe even start.
If both look like they are going to try the NFL then maybe you propose a deal with the argos for their national DT Cleon Laing for our 2knd overall pick and maybe another player like Connor Mcgeogh and a neg list player and / or another draft pick. Who know maybe Jim Popp will bite at having the top two picks.

From Vinny’s extensive list there are, I believe, 5 seniors who would be draft eligible : 26 Matt Boateng DB 6’0 175 Fresno State, 21 Maleek Irons RB 6’1" 230 Ohio , 18 Justin McInnis WR 6’6" 205 Arkansas State , 67 Shane Richards OL 6’8" 335 Oklahoma State , 29 Nate Anderson DL 6’4" 255 Missouri .

The scouting and CFL draft gurus like Vinny, help us to follow the growth of the game and the young Canadian players who make it so unique . Thanks again for all you do for the fans of the game and especially Tiger-Cat fans.

Pat Lynch (the old guy)

GO UB BULLS!!!

We miss you Vinny!

Come back full-time.

There are some TiCat Neg List players who will also be playing in some bowl games .

New Orleans Bowl Appalachian State QB Zac Thomas Dec 15 9 PM

Hawaii Bowl Louisiana Tech QB J’Mar Smith Dec 22 10:30 PM

Alamo Bowl Washington St. QB Gardner Minshew Dec 28 9 PM

Fiesta Bowl U. Cent Florida QB McKenzie Milton Jan 1 1 PM

Orange Bowl Alabama QB Tua Tagavailoa Dec 29 8 PM

Pat Lynch (the old person)

McKenzie Milton had a serious leg injury in the last regular season game and won’t be playing. He’ll be undergoing extensive reconstructive surgery in January. A fantastic player that may not see the field again.

Apparently the latest knee scope is positive . He’s going to travel with the team to the Fiesta Bowl Jan. 1 2019. He is a junior and no doubt is having the surgery in January . His parents are very optimistic about the surgery and rehab.

I sure hope the kid gets a chance to play next year, somewhere . Getting hurt in the last game of the regular season is a bummer !

Pat Lynch (the old guy thanking Lazer for the heads up)

I just finished watching the New Orleans Bowl with App. State and Mid. Tenn. The TiCat neg list QB Zac Thomas was outstanding . He threw 3 TD passes and caught one in a 45-13 blowout game . The 6’1" 205 sophomore runs as well as he passes. He was the game MVP . His regular season ended with 21 TDs and 6 interceptions. After their victory yesterday, their record is 12-2 .

He possibly has 2 more years at App. State which is looking like the building of a dynasty program .

Pat Lynch (the old guy)

I’m not sure if Larry Jusdanis, in 1996, was the last Canadian quarterback to start for the Cats but there could be another on the horizon . His name would be Nathan Rourke of Oakville, the quarterback for the Ohio Bobcats.

The 6’2" 210 juniorplayer ran for 2 TDs and threw for another in Ohio’s win over San Diego State in the Frisco Bowl last night. The 27 - 0 score was a true indicator of the play . The kid had one play near the end zone that was just sick . He faked to the running back up the middle and then ran wide to the left for the score . The entire defence went with the fake .

2020 would be Nathan’s draft year and the Cats just happen to have 2 number one picks that year . Perhaps we’ll finally have a local kid on the quarterback depth chart.

Pat Lynch (the old person)

Fingers crossed !

I watched the Liberty Bowl last night : Oklahoma State versus Missouri. There were 4 Canadian kids playing and 2 were standouts. The recent trend of some seniors choosing to skip bowl games in favour of readying themselves for the NFL Draft continued but with an interesting twist .

Chuba Hubbard , a freshman Canadian running back, 6’1 210, unexpectedly got an opportunity to play. The former Alberta track star lit up the Missouri defence all night long (Tony Orlando homage). His right guard was Shane Richards 6’8 335 a senior from Calgary . The man is a bulldozer .

It does appear that Canadians can play this game. Oklahoma State Cowboys beat the Tigers of Missouri 38 - 33 . The Cowboy QB Taylor Cornelius threw a couple of ill-conceived intercepts but was still chosen gameMVP but Hubbard deserved the honour.

Pat Lynch (the old Canadian guy)

I love this time of year with all the bowl games and it is great to see Canadians making their mark in the NCAA.

40 years ago today I was fortunate enough to be at the Rose Bowl game between Mchigan and USC. Not sure if any Canadians played in that game. In fact the only player I remember playing in the game - because he ended up playing baseball for the Blue Jays a few years later - was Michigan QB Rick Leach.

USC ended up winning the game to end up with a share of the National championship that year. They won the Coaches poll and Alabama won the AP sportswriters poll.
