Amazing to see the progress Canadian Alphonso Davies is making with Bayern Munich. He's fast becoming a head turning star. His play yesterday against Chelsea in UEFA play have the media raving about the kid. Apparently Bayern are trying to sign the kid to a huge contract that will keep him with the club until 2025.

Jonathan David is tied for the top scorer in the Belgian league (a pretty good stepping stone to the Big Four Leagues) The last guy we had do well in the Belgian league did pretty well in the Premiership, Tomasz Radzinski (Everton/Fulham). David is tied with 18 goals and the next highest has 13.

He is being scouted by most of the big teams in England and Germany and they are now looking at around a 25 million Euro transfer fee.

KAA Gent star Jonathan David continues his positive trend. The 20-year-old has seen his market value grow from €20 million to now €25 million in the latest Transfermarkt Belgium market value update.

The Canadian national team star is now the most valuable player to have ever played in the Jupiler Pro League. The striker has underlined his market value by scoring 23 goals and ten assists in 40 competitive games this season.

Eighteen of those goals were scored in the Jupiler Pro League, where David nets every 117 minutes—an impressive rate that has brought him on the radar of several top clubs in Europe.

Most recently, Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United were interested in the forward. David’s path, however, will likely see him head to Germany next.

“He wants to join the Bundesliga,” David’s agent Nick Mavromaras said in an interview with the German-based paper Ruhr Nachrichten. Several Bundesliga clubs, including Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Borussia Mönchengladbach have been linked with the striker.

Lille, Gent verbally agree to €30M fee for David

Jonathan David looks to be headed to Ligue 1.

Sources tell TSN that Lille has verbally agreed to a €30 million deal with Belgian side Gent for the 20-year-old David’s services.

While a deal is not yet finalized, a formal announcement is expected to be made in what will the be the largest ever transfer for a Canadian player.

Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Ottawa, David joined Gent in 2018 and has scored 30 times in 60 league appearances over two seasons.

David had been attached to the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund in recent months, while Lille was reported to have made an initial €25 million offer for the player last month.

By virtue of finishing fourth in the 2019-2020 Ligue 1 season that was abandoned early due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Lille will play in the Europa League next season.

Internationally, David has been capped 12 times by the senior side.
