Camp Update Day 3

I made my way to practice this morning. It was a good practice, 2+ hours.

#81 Chaz looks really good. He is a large guy, long arms, catches well.

Who knew that #27 Peters is a long snapper. He was zinging balls to the punters. He was huge at Will LB as well.........nice pick 6 at the end of practice.

Hurl was really coaching up some rookies on special teams stuff. Nice to see a 3rd yr guy assert himself a little.

Could not watch the big fellas too much. But they were going hard.

Returners........lots. Matt Brown #9, Mini Dressler Smith #2, #24.............all looked sure handed. Matt Brown looks like a Jock Saunders clone...........they are very close in size and body type as well as quickness.

#2...............well if it looks like Dressler, tries hard like Dressler, catches like Dressler......... when you see this kid live you won't blame me for calling him mini Dressler. Stick a #7 on his jersey and you'd sweat it is Weston. Quick indeed and work ethic is there.

A fullback......I forget who, absoutley crushed a blitzing Mortty Ivy in full skeleton. Blew Ivy right up and the coaches loved it. As for Linebackers..........watch Peters, Ivy, Kilgore...........they are all fast. Another one is Brandon Isaac who we know has 4-5 yeard experience.........he looked like he belongs.

Lots of DB's...............as for rookies #14 was beat a few times but he recovered and knocked away some balls. He must be fast to recoever like that or maybe the ball was underthrown..........but he looked beat and recovered.

I will send updates as I get to TC.

good update

Matt Brown was discussed on one of those, and here:

Peters seemed to be a good fit last year...being a long snapper is interesting...puts 4 on the team now! funny

Hurl was helping guys in last camp even...he is a huge team player. He went from outstanding starter to a sidelined guy and took it for the team. Can't say enough good about him.

I am glad 24 (McNeal) looked good, as I saw him as a likely front runner at landing a RB spot.

It is going to be all new faces in the backfield...scary. A real FB is going to be critical against Hamilton this year.

Brown was released...Ryan Smith has looked good, thus making Brown expendable. Too bad...I liked him...hoped to see him in real action for a shot

Any word on Tristan Black?
