EDMONTON -- Calvin McCarty will not be in the Edmonton Eskimos' lineup for Saturday's game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The team's versatile running back suffered a hamstring injury during the first half of the Eskimos' 38-35 win over Calgary and has not practised in any of the team's three sessions since returning from the bye week..."
Wow! 2 defensive starters out for ED as well. Run at Mo's replacement and throw at the back up DB. See what happens. McCarty out is a plus for the Cat's banged up D line. Should be the game of the weekend.
Don't think they'll miss Williams; he seemed to me to be the weak link in their secondary; lots of curl patterns were completed against him last game, because he was playing off the receivers too far. In addition, playing him in that HB spot moves Goss out to the corner, which I think is a bad move for the Eskimos. Goss is a terrific shutdown HB and should be played in that spot, and not out on the corner.
With these injuries and the Cats still cant get the ground game going then something is seriously wrong. Either its the O-line or Cobbs technique. style etc.
Down the stretch the team will need rushing and if it is't there?
8) If the running game doesn't get untracked this week, and Cobb can't show some consistency throughout the whole game, then I would venture to say that Caulley should get the nod for Labour Day !!
It will be interesting to watch this next game closely, especially the play of the OLine, to see if they
are the problem, or not !!
