Calvillo has signed a 2 year contract extension with the Als. Seems like his career will never come to an end :lol:. Calvillo is good for the CFL so I am happy to see him back...almost guarantees another winning season for the Als however...and I am never happy to see that (considering I have no recollection of a time when the Als have a bad season....) :x
I actually took a moment to think about this being his 20th season…then realized I am only 18…this guy has been playing in the CFL longer than I have existed. That’s an incredible feat when I think about it like that. He signed a 2 year extension so a 21st year is not out of the realm of possibilities either.
Incredible for sure and especially in light of the comment, along these lines, that Warren Moon said about qb'ing in the CFL vs NFL, that demanding on your body for the qb position, the CFL is more difficult, more emphasis for the qb to run for a 1st down being one of the reasons if I remember correctly him saying way back.
8) It makes you feel so young, while it makes me feel so old, because I remember AC when he broke into the CFL as a
rookie with the Las Vegas Posse at that time !!! <!-- s:wink: -->:wink:<!-- s:wink: --> <!-- s:lol: -->:lol:<!-- s:lol: -->
If he can stay healthy, I don't doubt either that he can play in his 21st season !!!
He is a fitness freak now, so it's entirely possible.
There really isn't a downside to this unless you're one of the other 7 teams I guess. AC's been everything you'd want from your QB. Unmatched on-field performance, great team spokesman, a community guy who lives in Montreal year-round, sets a very high standard for his team mates both on and off the field and a sure-bet future HOFer. What a fabulous career.
Me too. I was hoping AC would retire, Creehan would deliver the same results in Winnipeg, and therefore TiCats and Argos would be the beasts of the east.
Calvillo might retire in 2013 to match his jersey number. Just like Wayne Gretzky was #99 and retired in 1999. Or he might think that 2013 will be his lucky year and he'll retire with one last Grey Cup. He definitely still has the ability to pull it off.
