Even those of us whose ancestors were relatively recent arrivals cannot avoid responsibility for what was done to the first Americans by earlier arrivals, as we came to enjoy the benefits which they created, largely at the expense of those who were already here.Let’s not dwell on how “attractive” they are, let’s think more about why there is a need for them in the first place.

I don’t disagree with what you said about the past but I didn’t see this thread as being about that, just about the artwork. There is a thread in the Lounge relating to Truth and Reconciliation.

Indigenous people aren’t automatically better artists just because they are indigenous. Treating them differently because of past transgressions I don’t think is helpful to them and I don’t think their art should be immune from judgement. And as you say everyone has different tastes in art and I might add also different abilities to judge art.

I agree with what you say. Some of the indigenous art I’ve seen does nothing for me and some of it is beautiful. I may have erred in thinking that there was little or no consideration of history in some others’ comments, but I do hope that we all remember the reason for the project in the first place.
On another point I would be quite happy if the Blue Bombers would stick with their indigenous art helmets permanently. I think they are fantastic.

This post seems to a bit of a catch-all for the Indigenous logos. I want to say the REDBLACKS logo is very well done on a representational note and in aesthetics.

Agreed, I like this one better than Calgary’s. I think the Elks might still be my favourite still.

I do like the Elks logo, would have been fun to turn the whole helmet over to have it done though.

Because in my opinion, BC’s indigenous helmets are stunning as a whole…

My top 3 favs so far for looks would be BC , Edmonton and Ottawa .
Honestly not a big fan of the Hamilton or Calgary logos and still waiting on the other 4 teams logos as I haven’t seen them yet .

This one looks like the horse ridden by Ghost Rider of Marvel Comics fame or by the undead beyond the wall in Game of Thrones. Perhaps it will look better on the helmet as suggested.

Glad I am not the only one who had that 1st impression

This design was introduced last season in time for the Orange Shirt game. I have commented earlier that I would be quite happy if the Bombers adopted it permanently.

Any proud horse would be worried if it resemble like that logo. … Maybe for a horror movie
