Well Calgary seems to be doing fine without jones, Edmonton just keeps on winning without jones, so what seems to be the problem with the riders, maybe jones was just always on a good team, and never on one like he's built here. And here we are stuck without a quarterback.
I just keep remembering how last season started and my feeling that all the other teams were getting better and winning games early in the season and we the fans kept saying that the Riders were almost winning every game they were in and then suddenly it was like 1 and 8 or some such thing.
Well now here we are sitting at 1 and 3 last in the west, with everyone most likely thinking Toronto will be a win for the Riders playing at home. IF not then 1 and 4 looking way to much like last season.
IMHO, The Riders need to be winning more games then the are for me the think they are any better then last year.
Just how well is Chris Jones doing at building a team that can win! :cowboy:
We had one, but Jones said he was an average QB....... go figure!!
Jones was a good DC at his last couple stops, and apparently a good head coach in Edmonton when they won the cup in 2015. Enough that it got him the label of some kind of infallible football genius. John Murphy was also touted as the league's premiere personnel guy becuse of his work in Calgary But as you said, Edmonton is doing fine without Jones, and Calgary is obviously doing fine without Murphy, and we are sucking with both of them together.
Name a Murhpy find for the Riders that is at or near top of the league in anything. Yeah, we'd be talking rookies or sophomores, but are there any that other teams might covet? Certainly not at quarterback, the position with which we've decided to put in Murphy's hands before we were ready to.
I'm beginning to think we've been sold a bill of goods with this bunch. Big ego's that thought they were the best in their previous clubs, but in actuality, were depending on others as well to have success. Firing people? No, thats not really practical at this point, salary concerns and all that. But jeez, how bout some kind of shakeup that inidcates that we are not standing pat watching the team lose and saying "Oh well, fans are showing up anyway, we just need patience". Hire a DC maybe, change up the OC maybe... a big trade maybe (do we have anyone other teams want?).
It all adds up to another lost season for us, which makes 3 or 4 in a row now, and I'm not sure how much more patience or loyalty Rider nation will have in the face of skyrocketing ticket prices.
First time in 50 years I have turned a game off ... the missed off side by, 5 feet and no call on the late hit out of bounds was the last straw. Love the riders but can't watch that nonsense ..
If you can't stand watching due to mistakes by officials how can you stand watching due to mistakes by the players?
To blame this loss on officiating is pretty much ridiculous. We were manhandled, and frankly, the score flattered us a bit. Yeah, there were some ticky-tack calls, and head-scratcher non-calls, there always are. The bigger, more glaring issue, is just how bad our team looks right now.
As a fan I can tolerate poor play of the home team .... but it both.First time in 50 years I have turned a game off ... the missed off side by, 5 feet and no call on the late hit out of bounds was the last straw. The team lost the game all by themselves..... didn't need help.
At no point have I blamed anyone for the loss. It's getting old when people can't even post in their own team areas about frustrations with the game and any aspect of it.
When dumb adds dumber to form a tandem it's just not watchable. Dumb didn't need help.in stinking the joint up ... you must be a rider fan posting in this thread so surely you must understand that at some point when you turn off the tv it was a result of one last thing in a list of things that was the last nerve - also as a rider fans why read into that anything more than frustration of a night when nothing went there way .... including team effort?

There are a few critical of some off calls but I didn't see any posts suggesting that it would have changed the outcome - did I miss a post ?
No you pretty much summed it up.
Just found it odd that someone would be so fired up by some supposed poor reffing, to not see the incredibly poor performance of our team instead. Of the list of problems with that game, reffing was waaay down the list.
Ricky ray will slice and dice the riders , he always does, . Frankly I don't think the riders will win anymore games. I don't know wh
Who their gonna beat, you tell me
Who their gonna beat, you tell me
Realistically? Winnipeg on Labour day. Toronto next week. Maybe Hamilton in Hamilton. I think we will win 2 more, maybe surprise Calgary or BC at home in the fall.
I think that makes for a total 6 wins. 1 better than last year.
Not enough IMO.
