Burn the 2025 Witches v.I - Cow Patties in Cowtown

Ya he seems fine overall.. you know who really needs to learn the special teams game a lot more tho Canadian or American or any damn football is Johnny Augustine he totally played that kickoff like he was gonna get a no yards call, that was ridiculous.

Yeah I was saying during the game that Dennis McKnight has some explaining to do because I thought it was an American player who messed that up but Augustine should know better. Ultimately though the special teams blunders falls on the ST coordinator

On a kickoff it doesn’t matter what league really he should just know it’s live after 10 yards I blame him specifically.

Yeah for sure he should’ve known better, and you’re right an American player still should know that too because it’s the same. At the end of the day though it’s like with the offense and defense if the players look unprepared then it falls on the coordinator not preparing them well enough.

Though I’m not sure what else they could do because they now have 2 ST assistants as well as the coordinator.

Exactly.

How about not being down by 15 with less than 3 minutes in the game. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Well Tim White has been mercilessly roasted for his infamous Grey Cup blunder, but he was an American rookie. In that instance a HC or STC contributed by not providing clear instructions.

However, Augustine is Canadian and has been in the CFL several years now. He is regularly involved in the Return Game. To me it looked like he either had a brain fart or misjudged where the kick was going to land. I don’t think Coach McKnight could have done much in terms of preparation there if a player simply didn’t execute.

correct BUT
I don’t think I have ever seen a KR just not go after the ball like happened there. Augustine is a ā€œhands guyā€.

He knows better.

I am sure that you are periodically checking out the weather forecast for Hamilton.
Still not good . . . first of all, the temperatures are predicted to be unseasonably cool. You can probably leave your Shorts at home in Texas.

As far as Precipitation is concerned, it appears that the showers are not moving into Southern Ontario until early Friday evening. Of course, this forecast can still change half a dozen times between now & Friday, but as it stands right now, you may get your Friday round of golf in before the moisture arrives. Your Saturday morning round of golf does not look as promising . . . but they are only predicting 1 to 3mm of accumulation in the morning, so that sounds like scattered showers to me. Not sure if your group is willing to play through scattered showers.

And for Saturday evening, I am not bothering with an hourly forecast yet (too unpredictable) but right now it looks like 13°C w/ 40% POP. I would suggest we can bank on the cooler temperatures, but the timing of the precipitation can still shift forward or back, or disappear altogether . . . :crossed_fingers:
Good luck.

I’m A-OK with the temperatures, but not loving the rain. Friday afternoon was showing rain as recently as yesterday so I like what I’m seeing there now. As for Saturday, it still looks bleak. We will go ahead in golf if it’s light rain or scattered showers, but not if it’s pouring out. As for football, if there’s a game going on I’ll be in my seat!

Hopefully the rain keeps pushing out and we stay dry Friday and Saturday, but only time will tell.

Augustine jogged up to the ball and im thinking he thought the ā€œup manā€ was going to field it. The Up man turns around to block. Feels like both thought the other guy was gonna get it.

Coaches should have been clear with the return team to watch for short kicks that could hang up knowing the wind was strong.

None of us know if this coaching happened.

HAM has BLM and will not push the ball downfield against a shaky Stamps’ D. What?

Oh well. All we can hope for is that they look at the game film and correct these sort of miscommunication blunders. It was only Game 1, so better they get these issues sorted out now than have them still occuring at mid-season.

Awesome. I had no idea that Steve Ruddick posted on our Forum. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Mostly clear skies and only a 20% chance of rain now for Saturday. 15 degrees at gametime.

That’s still too cool for mid June, low to mid 20’s should be the temperature and shorts and a t shirt should be what to wear not sweater and blanket with touque.

If 15*C is a temperature where you need a blanket and a toque, then I don’t know how to help you.

For me it’s all about the rain. When it’s only 15 degrees that’s ideal as I can wear my retro Angelo Mosca Jersey. I find the Jersey’s too hot when it’s 25-30 degrees.
I’m sure the HSG is relieved that there is no rain in the forecast now. It probably costs the team thousands ( and thousands) of dollars in lost revenue when it rains and only 10K
people show up to the stadium ( even if the game is ā€œsold outā€).
