Addison is apparently gone

I had a feeling this would happen. Too many injuries in too short a time span - and all of them season-ending.

Loved the way he refused to go down when he had the ball.

Headline on 3DN now corrected to say we released him, not that hes retiring

Still not a surprise. He -might- be able to catch-on with another team if/when his Achilles injury fully heals.

Well not really shocking or surprising you do have to feel a little bad for Addison .
He really only had 1 good healthy year here in 2019 where he played lights out finishing up with over 1,200 yds and 7 tds thru the air and an additional 218 yds on the ground and 1rushing td .

Unfortunately though the last two seasons have not been kind to him where he just couldn’t stay healthy . He ended up missing 21 games and only suited up for 11 games total in that timeframe . I wish him well and hopefully he lands on his feet elsewhere , preferably on a team out West .

In closing it would appear that the team has some big plans for some of the many new signees in the receiving positions coming into camp on Sunday . Even without Addison the team is showing 17 players vying for jobs at the position(12 Am/5 Cdn) and very few of the American contingent having any CFL experience to speak of with the exception of the two Whites , Duke Williams, Anthony Johnson and to a lesser extent Terry Godwin .

I actually considered Addison to be our best receiver in 2019. And yes, that was Speedy’s MOP season. But Addison did more things well (outside of the return game), and always seemed to make the tough catches.

Hate to see him go.

Even when he came back briefly from injury in 2021 I thought he was the best receiver on the field, very versatile and hard to bring down, never shying away from a hit. Hope he’s able to resume his career ( my guess is Shawn Burke will be all over him if healthy).
I think we’re in a little better position this year at receiver with the Canadians, Anthony Johnson and Terry Godwin having a bit more more experience, along with T. White and Duke.

43 catches for 433 yards last year in only 8 games, that’s pretty good production.

I am guessing he is not 100% and won’t be for quite a while ( or ever). The footage he posted in February of him getting on a treadmill for the first time since the injury, did not look encouraging ( it was like he had to learn to run again). Plus 145K in hard money this year. I would think that if his prognosis was good, we would have kept him around on the 6 game to start the season.

No doubt that he would’ve easily been over 1000 yards last year if he would’ve stayed healthy and played the entire season.

We also cut Jake Burt

I’m wondering what direction we’re we’re going in

His 4 catches for 40 yds and 0 special teams tackles are going to be hard to replace .

:sunglasses: Whatever member of the so called TiCat scouting staff made the ultimate recommendation to draft this Burt guy, should be given his walking papers at the same time as Burt !!!

Just disgraceful, to say the least !!!

Just goes to show you that sometimes the fans know more than the coaching staff do !!!

Same guy that drafted Chapman

The only accountability in Steins organization falls on the players. Overly loyal to management but it’s the players that are often blamed. Apparently the game planning, scouting, in game coaching and playcalling are perfect.

Either way, glad we’re moving on. Shows the ultimate goal of upgrading talent that hasn’t been here.

Perhaps a Kalinic signing on the horizon?

Between him and Durant you can have quite the track meet. No footballs required.

This team has historically been pretty bad at talent evaluation…
