Bombers WILL win!!

Just wanted to post a positive topic among all of these negative ones that have been up on the bombers forum these last couiple of days...
This is a prediction of mine that I have researched for the last couple of weeks: the bombers WILL win the Grey Cup in one of the next THREE seasons. The stars have aligned...Bowman, Edwards, Willis, Hunt, Serna, Charlton, Johnson, both Walls', and possibly Simpson and Brown if they stay. The only problems are at one position...QUARTERBACK!!! Think about it; I seriously dont think that it will take more than 3 seasons to find a DECENT qb that can at least lead us to the final game.

Don't count on it. Knowing Kelly he'll send us Bowman, Brown, Heffney, etc. for free. Not that I have any argument with that

Ok, you have one decent year out of 6 and Ti cat fans think they have won the last 5 Grey Cups in a row. Relax, your not winning The Grey Cup this year. You should worry about the Ti Cats stringing 2 good years in a row together.

how do you know?

They (TiCats) better win it soon, the guys we sent off to them won’t be around much longer.

I think if the Bombers want to trade for another impact QB (which the must do), they will have to trade a guy like Heffney or Bowman to do it. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bombers trade for Kerry Joseph, Buck Pierce or Jarius Jackson. But they won't get one of those guys for free.

Goodspeed and Gauthier have another 3 seasons in them at least. And Glenn could play another 5 years.

Sure they could play that long, but will they be at the top of their game still ? Not likely. Add Bruce & Stalla to that list as well, how old is Floyd ?

This year or next, imo, will be your best shot at it.

Lets’s bet ? You name the price ?

Obviously you missed the -------------> <---------------------- which indicated I was joking. Besides, I like our odds better then yours. Oh ya!The Bombers sucked this year and were lucky to rally enough wins to get booted out in the last game anyways, cool cool. And by the way i’m not concerned about the Cat’s stringing two good years together. The only players that are eligible for FA next year from our squad is Bauman and Gagne-Marcoux. Bauman by the way as I last heard was waiting to sign until the end of the season and Marcoux is rumoured to be jumping to the Al’s, and to that I say so what? We collected 3 first round N/I OL this year in Rottier, Carlson and Morencie, good riddens to Marcoux. From there we can pick up other FA’s, using Obie’s leet scouting skills to get great new rookies and maybe get 1 or two good N/I’s from the draft. You guys went from 8-10 and losing the east semi to 7-11 and not making the playoffs whereas we went from finishing 3-15 and finishing dead last to 9-9 and making the east semi @ home. I’d be more worried about your squad struggling if I were you.

Only 18 000 sold ?

Kerry Joseph, Buck Pierce??? are you kidding??? Hey I like Pierce, but he is probably going to have to retire due to concussions. If not next year then the next. JJ is good, but again we have never seen him outside of BC.

Thanks for the up beat post! I am with you, only I see the Bombers winning the Cup next year under Bishop!

After Kelly's performance this year, to even imagine Kelly can develop a CFL quarterback is well "special"...

BC and the Riders both have 5 QB’s on their roster, there will be arms available even without trading.

Not sure… Toronto is also on the market for a QB and the Lions have a “tie” to the Argos, Kerry Joseph will likely be available. BC has five in name only and of those five 3 have experience and all 3 are made of glass.

There really is not much out there. I think the best option is to keep Bishop and start developing your own.

Yup, Argos will be looking as well and may try to dump Joseph. I don't see him being anymore an option for the Bombers than what Bishop brings to the table, although that can be debated based on their accomplishments. Just might be able to squeeze a year or two more out of Joseph while a young guy watches.

Heck, I'd even look at Jyles if the Riders wanted to part with him. A rotation of Lefors/Jyles might even be a better option than Bishop or Joseph.

One thing is certain, the Bombers will need to put a 'new face' to the franchise next season, given the damage Kelly has done in the PR department.

I’d actually go as far as saying that i’d take Bishop over Joseph anyday. Why? First of all his arm strength is incredible. Secondly, Bishop is just as mobile or more mobile then KJ.Finally, I think Bishop is more of a leader and team player than Joseph will ever be.

I’d be very surprised if Lefors is part of Kelly’s plans, for many reasons…

I don't know why he (Lefors) wouldn't be ?
